Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite updated with the needs today. I choose the electronics engineering course because it had great placements and research opportunities ahead. The faculty student ratio is manageable. The faculties are all quite qualified with excellent teaching methods to make us understand the core concepts. Each semester we have a mid term and term examination. The mid term exam is held after approximately 1.5 months after the start of semester and the end term exam is held at the end of semester. The difficulty of exams is dependent on the course and the professor teaching that course. But most of exams are moderately difficult.
Internships Opportunities
The own campus internship season starts in the third year at the very beginning of the 5th semester. Grabbing internships is a bit tougher than the placements. But off campus internship opportunities are quite good.
Placement Experience
The placement record of the college is impressive. This year in 2023 placement season the highest package offered is 1 crore 68 lakhs. The average package for the last year is 23 lakhs. Most of the students get the placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees is 1 lakh rupees per semester. Other fees are around 6000 per semester and the mess fees is 15000 per semester. For affordding the course students are provided with student loans by the in campus bank branches of SBI. There are many scholarship opportunities provided to us from time to time by the college and the process is smooth. the college also provides assistance during placements.
Campus Life
The campus life is good. The holy city of Varanasi adds more to campus life. Annual cultural fest is named Kashi Yatra and big artists have performed in this fest. The technical fest is called Technex and the sports fest is called Spardha. Other fests include FMC weekend branch specific fests like Udyam,Udgam and Mashal for ECE branch. Club activities include technical clubs, media council, sports council all of which are further subdivided. All the club activities and fests are run by the students of the college. There is big library and reading hall of moderate capacity. The library is quite good. It has huge number of books of all the subjects.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are provided by the college itself. Most of the hostels have rooms with a capacity of 2 to 3 residents per room. The meals which are provided in the mess of each hostel differ slightly but the meals are moderately good. Registration process for hostels is offline when you reach the college. Hostels are affordable with only costing 300 rupees per semester. The college is located in the main city. So if anyone wants to live outside the college he/she can reside there and finding a PG is quite easy near the campus.
Admission
The standard admission procedure for getting into IIT is clearing the JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced exam and the performance in JEE Advanced exam is used for allocation of seats in all the IITs. Application process includes applying for JEE main through official JEE main website and after you clear the exam you get to appear in JEE advanced for which you have to apply on the JEE advanced official website. Only if you clear JEE advanced also then you get a seat in IITs depending on your rank. You can appear in JEE main as well as JEE advanced in the year you pass 12th. After that you can appear in JEE advanced once more only next year. Reservation for SC,ST,OBC,PWD,EWS candidates is there. There is also 20% reservation in seats in IITs for girls
