Likes

The infrastructure of Vit is pretty good.It is a green campus and there are a lot of places where you can go sit and relax.
There are a lot of fest and events happening in VIT everyday.
The faculties and staffs are extremely kind.

Dislikes

There are a lot of dogs and I am personally afraid of dogs
There is a huge competition in VIT.You have to hunt for opportunities

Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to do BTech computer Science as it is a relevant course in this technical era In VIT there are about 2000 students in Computer science department.Each class consists of 60 students with a faculty for each subject. The faculties are well equipped and we have Fully Flexible Credit System where we can choose our faculties. The exams are timely .We have three exams in a sem. And the structure of exams is well defined.Relative grading is a boon for us.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 500000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure depends on the category you get admission in. Categories are divided on the basis of VITEEE rank. There are 5 categories and category 1 pays an amount of 2 lakhs.Vit regularly sends mails about scholarships across India.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is pretty good. We have two major fests- Technovit which is a technical and sports fest and Vibrance which is a cultural fest.There is an international level library and the classes are well lit and ventilated. There are about 80-100 clubs and chapters in VIT

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is pretty good. There are different kinds of rooms from 6 bed non-ac to 2 bed ac. The hostel fees depend on the room selected by the student. The room allotment depends on the hostel rank. The mess menu is decided by the students and the food is tasty and prepared hygienically

Hostel Fee: INR 200000 per year

Admission

I wrote the VITEEE Exam . The application form was released in the vit official website. There is no reservation as of such. There are different categories depending on the rank.The admission process is well defined and I don't suggest any changes

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Placement Experience:

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in their final year. Many reputed companies like accenture, TCS, zoho, HCL, etc. visited and many of my friends also got placed with a good package. The highest package from my batch was 50lpa in company called motorq. The average package is around 4lpa.

Placement Experience:

The students become elgible for placements right from the 5th semester of their course work. The students who have no standing arrears become elgibile in the first place. There are many companies visiting the college where Infosys, Cognizant, Virtusa are the mass recruiters. The are many other companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho etc. visiting the college placement drive. On overall 90% of students gets placed every year. The highest package of 25lakhs per annum was offered by amazon for 3 students. My plans after getting degree is to get placed in any of the company.

It's a good college for me.

Placement Experience:

From final year students and 3rd-year students eligible for attending the campus placements in this campus so many companies are there like Wipro, wheels India, so many IT companies in this average package starting as 18000 to 40000 students should have a minimum percentage of 6.80cgpa eligible for placement I completed the degree I got a placement on IT company.

because of future is EV. So I will take the EEE for a bright future 50:1 ratio level. Faculty qualification is a minimum PG and most of the faculties are complete Ph.D. each unit has a unit test it is very easy only No difficulty to get a pass.

Balanced Engineering Journey At Vit Chennai

I applied for SRM, once considered admission in LPU but finally chose VIT due it's reputation and strong placements. Other colleges which I applied for required strong jee scores for admission. Admission process in VIT is as follows:- 1) write VITEEE exam cause vit doesn't considers jee scores. 2) you must have above 60 percent in boards and above or equal to 60 percent in PCM aggregate. 3)cutoffs, past papers, closing and opening ranks are not revealed si can't say much regarding that. 4) overall admission experience was decent...Read More

Is VIT worth it

From th start of the 12th class I wanted IIT and my second option was VIT over NITs because it has very good facilities. I didn't get good marks in my JEE advance so I choose VIT. I had given exams of various other colleges like Kalinga Insititute of technology(KIT), SRM, BITSAT etc. i chose VIT as my college was because it is one of the most renowned colleges of India. VIT has a tag value of its own and it does make a difference if you add "VIT" as your college in your resume. The admission process of this college goes by giving an examination called VITEEE which is held after jee mains. The syllabus for the same is similar to jee mains and the good thing is it has no negative marking. All 12th pass students with a minimum of 60% are eligible to write this entrance test.
