I opted for Mechanical Engineering at IIT BHU due to its comprehensive curriculum, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects, offering a strong foundation in core engineering principles along with diverse opportunities in various industries. The faculty-to-student ratio at IIT BHU for Mechanical Engineering is quite favorable, allowing for personalized attention and better interaction between students and professors. The faculty members at IIT BHU generally hold impressive qualifications, often possessing advanced degrees (Masters or PhDs) from renowned institutions. Their expertise spans various specializations within Mechanical Engineering, providing students with a holistic understanding of the subject matter. The teaching methods employed are usually a blend of lectures, practical sessions, projects, and research, fostering a well-rounded learning experience. Term exams at IIT BHU are usually conducted in a timely manner, following a structured academic calendar and easy.
Fees and Financial Aid
IIT BHU, renowned for its quality education, offers Mechanical Engineering with a fees structure comprising tuition fees, hostel charges, mess fees, and other miscellaneous expenses. While the fees might vary based on the category of students (General, SC/ST, OBC, etc.), as of my last update in January 2022, the fees at IITs were relatively reasonable compared to private institutions with sum totalling upto 125000 for a semester. IITs provide various scholarships such as the Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, National Talent Search Scholarship (NTS), and others. These scholarships aim to support deserving students based on academic merit, financial need, or specific criteria. In addition to scholarships, IITs offer financial aid in the form of fee waivers, loans, or special grants to students facing financial challenges. This support system helps eligible students manage their educational expenses.

Life at IIT BHU is vibrant with a thriving social scene. The campus hosts various clubs catering to diverse interests, including cultural, technical, sports, and more. Admission
One must have scored 75% or above in class 10th and 12th.One must be JEE Advanced qualified which in itself requires a qualification i.e.,JEE Mains. Since in both the entrance exams i.e., JEE Mains and JEE Adv. both requires deep knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics so its preffered to study PCM as compulsary subjects in class 12th. One can find application form from jeemain.nta.nic.in official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) for jee mains and after qualifing jee mains one will be notified for JEE Adv. registration via registered email. For qualifying JEE Adv. one should be good in all the three subjects. Application fees for JEE Mains is 1000(M), 800(F) and 500(T). JEE Mains takes place in two shifts one in last week of January and the second in first week of April. Application dates for first attempt are from november and for secod attempt february. One with reservations are surely benefited with better courses with comparably less marks or merit in entrance exam.
