What Students Say
Likes
- Faculties are one of the most important thing in a college and they're too good in this college having a nice interactive nature with students and well qualified for their respective department.
- Another thing is hostel location. Getting hostel on 5 min distance from college is just a blessing.
- Enjoying fest, cultural programs, freshers party and hostel night is nice for refreshing mind and relaxing after a lot of studies.
Dislikes
- Placements should be improved as students work too hard for campus placements so they expect high packages. .
- Infrastructure should be improved as college campus is small.
- Another thing I dislike is sometimes meal quality menu should include healthy and nutritious food.
Course Curriculum Overview
I've a good interest in computer science and when it comes to Cyber security It's a fastly growing technology which is a golden opportunity for students in upcoming years as our country needs a lot of cyber security experts. From my point of view every faculty member has their own value and in this college faculties are too good with behaviour and students interaction. Every faculty member of our department is well qualified (for example:- our programming teacher Ms Rupinderjeet Kaur: Masters in Data mining) and also having teaching experience. As I'm in 1st year so I don't have much experience about exams but I've given my first semester exams this month and it was just little bit difficult but if students are giving their best then they could pass examinations with good marks.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies visit our college for placements and giving opportunity to students for getting internships in prestigious companies. In college there's also national level hackathon is conducted for students of tech departments and many more. Students give their best to show their creativity and brilliance.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in 8th semester of BTech. Companies visiting college are HCL, L&T and many others. Highest package of GGI is 18 LPA and average package is around 4-5 LPA. Approximately 70-75% students gets placed and others are those who are not well prepared or opting for some other carrier options.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure varies from courses. As I'm a BTech specialization student and I got admitted through Rosemine educational trust so my fees costs 1 lakh per annum including hostel charges. Campus placements are not much high as students expects. But it's possible to get a good package if you're properly skilled in your stream. Also our college provide internship opportunities for those who are interested as well as working on their skills to make it better.
Campus Life
To refreshing minds and let students live their life fully, college student welfare department conducts many programs often. Cultural & tech fest, educational workshops, exhibitions are a big part of college's extra curriculum. For those who are good and interested in sports there are a lot of sports programs are conducted. Many social media platforms are runned by students. If we talk about library there's very nice environment either one is doing exam preparations or learning lessons from journals or biographies.
Hostel Facilities
In hostel, rooms are available in many different modes such as 2 seater, 3 seater and 4 seater beds and personal cupboards. Meal quality is okay and menu is nice. Hostel registration is done along with college registration. If you're looking for a pg or rented room then you'll have to stay a bit far from college campus one can opt for nearest locations like libra, khanna and shahnewal.
Admission
To get admission in GGI for pursuing BTech(IOT-CS) one should have passed intermediate with at least 55% aggregate. Anyone who wanna get admission in our college can check our college website (ggi.ac.in) or through counselling. College admissions are done in May and June month. Students can also contact Rosemine educational trust as it is a great helping hand for many students coming from middle or low class families by providing scholarship to students.
