Life at SRM

There is nothing to complain about the management. They are always there to help and support you in all possible ways. The hostels are the most luxurious once I have ever seen. ALL the classrooms, Laboratories, the mess and the admin and academic blocks are air-conditioned.

I have appeared for many entrance examination. But I have chosen SRM AP is because all the faculty members are Ph.D. scholars and the university has made many collaborations with prestigious universities like MIT, UCB etc.

The university follows the curriculum designed by MIT. It is more focused on research work. The faculty is very supportive of us. If you have any research idea you can straight away go to the concerned faculty and discuss your idea. The students are given more practical knowledge about the subject. You can learn many things after you have joined the university.

As of now, we had no internships, because we are the first-year students. But in the second year, we are hoping for internships. Internships being common, will be prodigious making one get chance to increase their knowledge.

As of now, we had no placements, because we are the first-year students. RM Amravati has been inaugurated on 17th July 2017. Its first batch of Engineering students will be experiencing the placements season in 2021. So as of now, we can’t predict but it's going to good as it's an SRM brand as well as situated in Amravati will also be a positive point to attract big organizations which are situated in south India.

In the month of March, we celebrated the sports, technical and the cultural fest. We enjoyed a lot, but only for the sports fest students from other colleges and universities have appeared, the reason that they have not attended the other fests is that they were busy with their exams and some other university's like VIT-AP had declared their holidays. But all these events were a grand success and they were celebrated very grandly.

The tuition fee is 2,50,000/- per annum The hostel fee depends on the room you choose i.e. if it is 2 or 3 or 4 sharing AC/ Non-AC room. According to me, the fee is feasible. Hostel Annual Fee Twin Sharing: Air Conditioned Room INR 1,80,000/- Non-Air Conditioned Rooms INR 1,40,000/- 3 sharing: AC INR 165,000/- Non AC 130,000/- 4 sharing AC 155,000/- Non AC 120,000/-

Yes, we are offered scholarships of 100% and 50% based on our performance in our SRMJEE Examination. I have a 50% scholarship on my tuition fee.

The university organised clubs inviting those interested, to improve the student capabilities in that particular quality. Weekends will be filled with memories and refreshment as students can go outing and enjoy the city life (transportation will be taken care of by the university.)

This is the best part of SRM AP, you have an open area to chill out. The mess food is good, it is the best compared to other hostels. There are 2,3 and sharing rooms available. There are no PG's outside the campus. The campus is located in a very isolated place. Words are not sufficient to describe the campus you should come and visit the campus, you would fall in love with the infrastructure.

As we are the first batch of students we have no seniors. We have a lab called Next Tech Lab which is run by the students of SRM-KTR campus. These two people help us with the doubts.

Every day we have lab sessions. And once in every two months, we have exams i.e. in a semester we have 2 mid-terms and an end semester exam. No, you don't have a hectic day. I always have a joyful day. All the exams are digitalized. The labs can accommodate 70 students. We have an electrical lab, an electronics lab, a biology lab, 2 computer labs, a mechanics lab and a chemistry lab.

Afer the declaration of the results, I was called for the counselling process, where I was asked questions regarding the subjects which I have studied in my +2. But for many of my friends, the interview wasn't subject based. After the interview, I have received a mail that I was selected for B.Tech programme in SRMAP.

All the faculty members are Ph.D. scholars. There are few professors, and a few associate professors and many assistant professors. They all are highly knowledgeable people For me it is a great privilege to study in SRM -AP. Each student has a mentor who would take care of the academic and non- academic problems of the student. The faculty can pretty much engage in starting up a research project with a new batch of students... Also injecting latest thesis and working knowledge into the bright minds.
