The prestige of jalandhar

The college management is pathetic at NIT jalandhar as most of the management decisions are taken by teachers .They usually go for decisions which make their own life comfortable rather than good of students such as reducing gate timings , moving college canteen away from faculty residential area. They haven't made most of the facilities online and most of the decisions are not posted on the institute website and submission of most of the forms are submitted via hardcopy in the office which leads to long waiting periods and often you would not find the respective personnel in theor office.

JEE mains score 172 AIR 17286 according to my score, it was the best possible choice as I wanted mechanical engineering and moreover, it was in the city I am residing.

The course was really thorough and industry-based but, much of it was based on old technology which was no longer in use and further there was only single management subject, which are very essential for personality development and further the industrial involvement with college is almost negligible.

Yes, the college provides a research-based internship program carried out by various senior faculty on their ongoing research it is a good opportunity for someone interested in the research field but sadly they do not provide any stripend. However they do provide accommodation but you will have to pay for food from your own pocket.

The placement drive is very good and very well connects to the industry. The good reputation of the college also attracts various good and famous companies for campus placement drives and the college has its own placement cell, which is managed by students guided by teachers. The students contact companies to visit the campus for placement drive. college has various facilities for carrying out the placement drive smoothly such as interview room, group discussion room, computer room and presentation room.

There are various college as well as departmental events celebrated in our college. These can be either cultural or technical or a combination of both. The most famous ones are Techniti and Utkansh.Techniti is a technical fest with a footfall of over 20000 it consists of various technical events conducted by various college societies and have great very high prize money. The other event celebrated is Utkansh which is a cultural event and enjoys participation from all over india, it consists of various cultural events such as painting, drawing, photography, dancing, singing and many more events with huge prize money.

The fee structure is feasible as the fee structure is based on the income of the students parents and mostly subsidized by the central government. Also there are various scholarships provided for meritorious students as well as students from backward classes. The fee consists of tuition fee as well as mess advance fees and in total it cost average of 80000INR per student per semester and may vary depending on the parents income.

The students usually admitted to the college are highly meritorious and have already applied for state provided scholarships as well as central scholarships such as scholarship for meritorious students by central board of secondary education.Also the loan facilities are provided by various banks which are present at the time of counselling before payment desk and on the spot education loan can be applied for with reasonable rate of interest.

Well i think life at NIT Jalandhar is pretty good .I think life at any place depends On your friend circle and which type company of people you like. From my experience I think I got fantastic life at NIT Jalandhar Pros. 1.Regarding academics I found teachers very much cooperative and helpful . This makes life easier . 2.A lot of time you get to have a good friendship as There is time restriction for 1st students. Upto farewell you have to Reach your hostel by 5:45pm . 3.NIT Jalandhar provides a healthy atmosphere for students to grow.

The are a total of 8 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel for accomodating students. Every year the students are alloted a new hostel and only in final year they are allotted independent hostels, defore that they are allloted shared hostels. The hostel environment is good but the facilities of only half the hostels are good, the other hostels have very poor facilities and it gets very hot and humid in summers. Other than that the hostels have internet connectivity and shared bathrooms on each floor along with printing machine in clerks room as well as playing area and TV room. Each hostel has its own mess but the quality of the food is very poor which often has resulted in food poisoning to students but the college authorities fail to listen.

The exam consists of two minors which contributes 20 marks each and a major exam of 50 marks as well as 10 marks are assigned by teacher based on your overall assesment in the class.The minors consist of independent syllabus and the majors consist syllabus from both minors as well as the topics taught later on. The syllabus consists the topics taught a day before the exam so people need to study regularly. The minors are conducted in a fashion as 2 exams in 1 day with no holidays, while majors are xonducted as 1 exam for 1 day with no holidays in between unless or otherwise its a gazetted holiday.

Firstly a central portal was formed after the JEE mains exam in which we needed to create account for central counselling which included all the major state and central government colleges and many other colleges. later we needed to fill our choices of colleges and respective branches according to our priority. After that our college was allotted by central counselling and we needed to report to nearest reporting centre with documents and thus we were alloted colleges through further reporting at the allotted college.

while most of the faculty that is senior is much educated and experienced on the other hand the junior faculty which is new lacks both knowledge and experience and unable convey the course properly.The senior faculty usually have Phd degrees in various specialisations and a number of research papers are published having their name.The junior faculty requires only M.Tech
