Remarks

The College Environment is Strict therefore students have to be become disciplined which they hate to do. Students quality is having downfall in the recent years. College welcome the student to take an initiative. I certainly enjoyed my first year there but after that the experience was bittersweet.

Entrance Preview

Jee Mains was the Entrance examination that I had given. I land up through counselling in which they allocate seats according your rank. The person with good JEE ranks got courses of their choice and the students with lower rank has to settle for what remains. There were no interviews for admission. I had chosen IT because I am obsessed with computers and I want to do something in that particular field so I know that this is my cup of tea.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course I choose their is Information Technology. If you get into JMIT then CSE ,IT are a few good courses their. The focus in practical learning is there lets say 30% but 70% of it was still the old school way. The research initiatives are taken by the institute but still not some groundbreaking research is done that the student's were aware of.

Internships Opportunities

The college provide internship for bright student 2 students from each branch. Also JMIT encourage students to take internship through Internshala. The average stipend amount was unknown to students.

Placement Experience

3

The Placement scenario is that every year nearly 200 to 300 students get placed out of nearly 800 to 1000 students from JMIT as well as JMETI(another college or the neighbour college run by same people ). Around 500 students are able to make to the placements drive(due to eligibility criteria) and then nearly one third of the students actually make it to the interview phase. Most of the students that were placed in these companies are from CS-IT departments. TCS is the major recruiter at JMIT but in the recent years TCS is not showing that much interest. The average pacakage is nearly 2.6 lpa. Tcs gives a package of 3.2-3.6 lpa whereas Startup companies provides a package of 2.5lpa. The companies that visited our campus are Hewlett Packard Enterprise Pvt. Ltd.,Vivo India,Daffodil Software Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services,Libsys Ltd,Amazon India,Escorts Ltd.,etc. Around 20-25% of students get placed every year from on campus placement.

College Events

3

Events and Activities held regulary in the campus. Many clubs are active in JMIT that organizes various activities and events .There are technical fest held by every department and there is one cultural fest(Enchante) that happens in March every year. The cultural fest are again fine but not like other college's as no celebrity comes to JMIT as the management never agrees on that. They even doesn't look for sponsors and the management never takes any deal from sponsors claiming that they have enough money of their own resulting in killing the amazing experience of the fest. All the do is they manage to invite some army general or old professor or some political leader and make him there chief guest. So cultural fest was not that big but certainly an enjoyable experience for the students. No outsiders from the college are allowed in the cultural fest limiting the average footfall to only college student of both JMIT and JMETI. Nearly 2000 -3000 students are there in cultural fest. Lastly food was offered freely for students on the last day of Cultural Fest. The organization and college authorities contribute for almost everything having a stronghold on what should be done and what should not be.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tution Fee ₹ 65218 Development Fee ₹ 9782 Student Fund ₹ 1500 Additional charges (Generator,internet(Wi-Fi),book Bank,EDP,etc.) ₹ 3500 College Security (Refundable) ₹ 2000 Admission Data Management Fee ₹ 200 Univ. Exam Fee ₹ 3000 Univ. Dues ₹ 1280 Univ. Alumni Fee ₹ 100 Women Cell Fee ₹ 10 Red Cross Fee ₹ 60 N.S.S Fee ₹ 20 University Development Fee ₹ 1000 Total ₹ 87670 Hostel charges are as follows: NON AC AC 1. Triple Seater Hostel ₹ 24000/- ₹ 28000/- 2. Double Seater Hostel ₹ 26000/- ₹ 32000/- 3. Single Seater Hostel ₹ 30000/- ₹ 39000/- The fee of the instituion got hiked by nearly ₹ 25000 from 2015 session. So it becomes a bit costly now. Many student study there manages to pay these fees but a lot of students has to go for loans as well. College also provides interest free loans for bright student. So unless you are a bright and money person this college is not a good choice for you.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship were given to bright student and SC,ST's,OBC's students get scholarship from the college. College provides Interest free loans for bright students. Other loan facilities are also provided by the college.

Campus Life

4

The college provides extracurriculars activities for example free java, python, php classes to everyone outside there course.Various Seminars, webinars, Guest Lectures and Workshops held regularly to give the students a glimpse of modern day Technology .Student get opportunities to explore but they really have to work hard here to make the best out of there inner talent.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I am not residing in hostel but most of my friends does and i go there to join them. Hostel life is good at JMIT but there's something that the student always complains about such as food at hostel and the timings after the gate was closed. For girls hostel there are more strict rules than boys hostel like no male will go 200 meter near the hostel gate and girls hostel gate shuts at 7p.m. in the evening. Due to these restriction's students and mess food student left hostel. There are triple seaters, double seaters, and single seaters rooms are available for student. Yeah college has PG's and they are really good better than boys and girls hostel. NON AC AC 1. Triple Seater Hostel ₹ 24000/- ₹ 28000/- 2. Double Seater Hostel ₹ 26000/- ₹ 32000/- 3. Single Seater Hostel ₹ 30000/- ₹ 39000/- There are two mess for boys and one for girls .They charge ₹30 for each time diet and ₹2000 for hostel students for 1 month. People who eats first time eat there find the food to be tasty but later on after a month or so complains a lot about the food. Also lunch is fine and good but breakfast and dinner are just not upto mark.

Alumni/Alumna

There were Sessions and Guest Lectures taken by Alumni of JMIT. I had a amazing interaction with our Alumni the sessions were insightful and knowledgeable. College provides a platform for student-alumni interactions and many alumni are contributing in the overall development of the college by hiring students for their startups and companies.

Exam Structure

Exams are very tiring for the student studying one major reason was that the college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University and students generally get more backlogs(what they expect) when result arrives and also result comes after 6-12 months of examination. So yeah at the time of placement students are preparing for clearing their backlogs rather than preparing for interviews. Labs are just okay because student there are working on technologies which are obsolete now and following the old school methods at the core of studies. So it was not a chill culture but student have there moments of joy during fest and activities.

Faculty

3

Faculty is qualified most of the HOD's has doctorate degrees and experience of at least 5 years where as the assistant professors also have a master degrees or a fewer have bachelor degrees with an experience of at least a year. Technicians or lab assistant's either had a bachelor degree or diploma degree with an experience of at least 2 years. Well the standard of teaching is perhaps not good as is the case with most of the institute also the study environment around the college is satisfactory not the best. Well most of the good vibes were created in the computer science department. So if you get an admission in CSE or IT chances are you can achieve something there. Also management of the institution is not as good as it should be.

The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics
