Remarks

Our college has a very friendly environment. All the faculty and staff are very understanding and the students are also very friendly with each other. Though, the college timings are hectic and tiring. And also library facility is a little too cumbersome. Sometimes students don't get the required books in the library. The 75% attendance regulation becomes way too much to follow, especially during winters.

Entrance Preview

Students have to take up GEEE(Galgotias Engineering Entrance Examination) exam to get admission in the university. I cleared the entrance exam and directly got a seat in my desired course. The college conducts interviews to take students for some courses but my course didn't require me to give an interview. I wanted to do BCA from here because I had heard much about cooperation, faculty does with students and their teaching techniques. Also, the placements in this college are very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose BCA for my under-graduation and found it appropriate. The faculty here is good and focuses on practical learning. Each core subject has a dedicated lab for practical learning. Research initiatives like PBL labs are arranged where every student is asked to make a project incorporating the learning of the whole semester. This gives an insight of the complete semester and makes the learning process more advanced. Research initiatives like these help the students to reach their maximum potential.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college does not provide internships to the students. The students are supposed to find internships on their own. The students can also participate in different societies which teaches them the technical work and gets them ready for the placement. Different students apply for internships on their own before placements in the final year. From what I've heard, my seniors did secure internships in good firms.

Placement Experience

4

All the students sit in interviews for placements in their last year of the course. This year Galgotias University students enjoyed record breaking 85*% round 1 placement with Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra. The students of CS-IBM programs had 98% recruitment – an achievement that exemplifies job-readiness of the programs’ pass outs. Year after year, leading corporates like NIIT, Vodafone, Aditya Birla Group, BMW, Airtel, Citibank, HCL and others select Galgotias University students for their all-round skills and leadership qualities. All the students sit in interviews for placements in their last year of the course. This year, Galgotias University had most of the students placed through campus selection. Due to excellent academic results and all-round performance of the students many big companies like Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra hired a lot of students from our college. This is the placement scenario of our college each year. Other companies, that visit our college are Vodafone, Aditya Birla Group, Airtel, Citibank, HCL, BMW and a lot more.

College Events

4.5

Our college organizes lots of fests in the campus. All of the events are funded by private companies and organizations brought by the students themselves. The average footfall includes thousands of students who visit the fests. Our college is always crowded during the fest time. The overall organization of the fest can be categorized as above average. The college authorities are quite supportive with all the facilities and requirements for the events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees for BCA in our university is not so affordable. 87000/- per annum cannot be afforded by all the middle-class families. The breakup of our fees is 77,000 tuition fee and 10,000 examination fee for each year. Though the fees in our college is less as compared to other private colleges, but still cannot be afforded by all. Plus, the hostel fees is way too much for the students who want to avail hostel facilities as well. But the college also provides top facilities to its students so this amount can be considerable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The University offers scholarships to meritorious candidates based on her/his academic performance in qualifying examinations prescribed by the university. Candidates who have outstanding skills in sports, performing arts or literature can avail the scholarship. Provision for the scholarship for international students is also available.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college provides a lot of extra-curricular activities for students to identify their hidden talent. Different societies organize different events for students and provide facilities for them to participate without any discomfort. I did participate in many activities in y first year and I'm still quite active in some societies. The college does provide many facilities for the extra-curricular activities, like music system for Dance practice, sports equipment, and a lot more.

Hostel Facilities

3

Yes, I reside in the university hostel. The hostel facilities are not so up-to-the-mark. The food is average here in the mess. The cleanliness of the rooms is also not that good, though I personally maintain my space. A single room is shared by 3-4 boys, however, the rooms are big in size and beds are also comfortable. I pay 99,000/- for a non-A/C room per annum.

Alumni/Alumna

The college does not provide any proper platform for student-alumni interaction but they can stay in touch on a personal level and discuss all the issues they want to. If provided, alumni discussion can lead to overall development of the college as well as the students.

Exam Structure

The two-hour lab schedule gets a little tiring sometimes.Though our teachers are chill about the labs and help us out with our work and doubts, however, I feel, two hours or a regular class is way too much. Our exam schedule is quite comfortable and we get sufficient time for preparations. Though sometimes the exam schedule is a bit distinctive, however, we manage it well.

Faculty

4.5

The quality of the academic staff is resolute for the quality of the college. All the faculty here are from accomplished backgrounds with vast experience in the field of education. Many professors have specialized in the subjects they teach. They are very interactive and do put in all their efforts in making students understand all the concepts of the subject. The teaching standards are too high and also student-teacher relationship is always maintained.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) are decent but not exceptional. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys visit the campus, along with some startups, and offer roles mainly in IT support, development, and trainee positions. The highest package offered is around 8–10 LPA, while the average package ranges between 4–5 LPA, and the lowest is around 2–3 LPA. Approximately 60–70% of students get placed, while others either go for higher studies or off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the BCA program because of my interest in software development and web technologies. The curriculum’s focus on core subjects like Java, C++, and Database Management Systems (DBMS) was a major deciding factor, as these are the building blocks for a career in IT. ?The syllabus could be updated more frequently to include emerging technologies like Cloud Computing or AI/ML as core subjects rather than electives. Moving away from traditional rote learning toward more project-based learning would be beneficial. More frequent industry guest lectures would also bridge the gap between academia and corporate life The exam will be I would rate the difficulty as moderate. If you stay consistent with your lab work and internal assignments, the end-semester exams are quite manageable. The technical papers (like Mathematics or Architecture) tend to be the most challenging.

Around 70–80% of students from the course get placed through campus recruitment drives every year. The average package ranges between 3–5 LPA, while the highest package can go up to 8–10 LPA depending on skills and performance. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, and other reputed firms. A good number of students also secure internships in companies related to their field, which helps in gaining practical exposure and industry experience. The common roles offered include software developer, data analyst, trainee engineer, and support roles, providing a solid start to students’ careers.

Placement in my college are very very average. I say below average because the placement average package of average 500 students was around 4 lakhs. And there are more than 10,000 students in my college. So the placement is very low. And the highest package for BCA, was around 10,00,000 and engineering around 20,00,000. An MBA was also around 13 to 14 lakhs. So the placement is very bad in my college.
