Remarks

I don't really have much to add after the whole review. I have had a mixed experience in college. There are good things like the fact that I will surely be able to have a great future after the education. My college primarily focuses on discipline and skills. I have a decent faculty for my department in my college and some opportunities are provided too, to the young students in the college . The whole institution is pretty much well-maintained .The course has given me a confidence to get on with my life just because so far I have had a good start.?

Entrance Preview

Engineering admissions are usually based on entrance examinations. I had written AIEEE and JEE too. The examination for my college, Bharathiyar Vidyapeeth has an exam called the IPU-CET in 2016. It is the Common Entrance Test for all admissions into the Indra Prashha University. My rank which was in 8000s made me to choose the stream I have currently. I heard the college was good from some of my friends who went there. I wanted to do engineering because people told me its a good course to get a job. It is professional course and there is a great scope of placement. I was good in Maths and Science, so I liked the idea too.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

One of the first things I checked before joining the course was the syllabus. Since I had opted B.Tech, I din't want to pass out as a mere degree holder. For me the focus had to be on the practical lessons. I found to my satisfaction that the course is a decent one. It has pretty much less scope and placements, compared to Computer Sciences in the college. But I didn't want to study Computer Sciences. I had frequent lab sessions every week. It helped to improve my knowledge of the electronics field. It was really hard to get used to all the work I was expected to do on my own. But there was help initially and now I am able to do all the lab work as per instructions. I enjoy doing the circuits, especially.

Internships Opportunities

I have no clear idea about it. But I wouldn't say there are opportunities provided by the college. We have a strictly organised academic calendar which goes by a fixed attendance requirement from students. Thus we cannot do an internship while still in college. Mostly, students do internships during the fourth semester break. So, I am yet to do one. These internships which we find on our own are mostly unpaid. But they can make CVs look good. That is the reason why we do it in the first place. That and the experience we gain.

Placement Experience

3.5

There are placements in campus. It is organized by the training and placements cell in college. They do a good work and as a result some major companies come recruiting in the campus. We are thus provided nice job opportunities. From what I know from my seniors,90% of the applicants get placements and 70 % of them get placed in good companies. The average package in college lies around 4 lakhs but the major share of it goes to the computer science department.

College Events

4

The college organizes fests on its own. We have a good level fests every year. There are both cultural and managerial fests. I personally enjoy the technical fest. There is a lot of interaction possible with similar minded students from other neighboring colleges during these times. Sometimes, we also get to see innovative projects by senior students during the fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

1,17,500 INR is the fees for one year. It is low compared to most private institutions. But my father had to avail a loan from The Federal Bank for the fee. It can't be always easy to find the sum for four years in a row. It does not include my hostel fee and the other expenses. Lots of my classmates and seniors have similarly availed loans to pay fees. It is a huge amount to bear for a middle-class family like mine. But I think the risk will be worth it as long as I give my 100%. We have good teachers and nice placements, so as long as I work hard it won't be a hard job to pay back the loans.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, there is no help from the part of the college. So far as I know there is no scholarship available for the students from the college. Not even for the academically excellent students. As I said, I found the funding for fee from an educational loan. It was my father who arranged for it and there was no help from college except providing me with certification that I was a student there.

Campus Life

3.5

?In?? terms of ?extra curriculars, the college isn't so bad. we have cricket and other sports. ?There are ample facilities in the ? college including equipment and ground. I ply cricket with my friends in the evenings. We also have a match among teams of students once a while. It is organised by the students themselves and we arrange prizes for the winners. It is a fun time when I enjoy things outside of academics.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

We don't have hostel for boys in the college. The college is not fully developed in case of certain infrastructure and facilities. The hostel is one such. The girls are provided a hostel and I think it is ell maintained. They live inside the campus and it is a good facility for them. Boys as of now live in hostels and PGs around the college. They charge from 3000-5000 depending on the institution. Food is nominally good. I like it here. Hostel life has given me so many memories. Even though now we complain of the kind of things that we are provided in hostel, I am sure I will miss it very much once the whole stay is over.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is brilliant. Alumnus and seniors are great and helping too. Yes. Alumni do contribute a lot to the college societies. Apart from funding and such economic help, the alumni interactions held in campus help us out a lot in our careers. Many of our seniors have began planning start-ups once they pass out of the college. I think it is the influence of successful alumni that has given them the confidence to try something new on their own.

Exam Structure

The exams in my college? are pretty much balanced.? We have frequent lab exams along with the theory exams. ?I find lab work and exams good? for my growth as a student . ?It keeps me on top of the syllabus and the daily portions taught. There is pressure to do well in all the examinations. For me, belonging to a middle class family, it is really necessary that I get a good job through the placements, so that I can repay the educational loans. So I have to do well in every exam and there is no other option. ?

Faculty

3.5

Some of the faculty members are doing PhD's or already have a degree of PhD. A few of them are just brilliant. I love to interact with them. Some of them, I hold in great respect just because of their teaching style. They make classes interactive and funny. Usually, I hear my friends telling ,e how boring the lectures of engineering courses are in other colleges. But I can say for sure that I haven't seen any of that here. If you consider the teaching standards, I would say I am extremely satisfied with them. I give full credit to the faculty for the nice pass percentages in my department every year.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.
