The overall experience of my college life has been full of ups and downs.

The college has been recently upgraded to university by Assam govt. The newly formed university of this prestigious heritage college is currently unstable and has to improve in many aspects to compete with other universities .

I was selected for admission based on merit list of HS marks. No interviews were taken in order to judge students personality. Research opportunities in the field of biology were the main reason for choosing the course.

I am studying Biotechnology which is a self-financing course in our university. Overall curricular is lacking standards with respect to other universities. Practical set up of the department is not up to the mark. Undergraduate students are not guided and encouraged by the professors to take up any research initiatives. Along with the major course, zoology, botany, chemistry, and computer science is offered by the university.

College is not very supportive for internships. Some students with the help of recommendations by faculty members did internship based on their own interests. I did a research internship in IASST Guwahati. Only some students in my class did internships.

No placements opportunities are there for the students after Bsc course in our university as most of them go for higher studies .

Many traditional cultural events are held. Quizzes are regular. In the Previous year, a college fest was organized with the traditional theme.

Per semester course fee is Rs 25000 along with additional 4000-5000 admission fee in every odd semester. The facilities are not up to the mark with respect to the course fee. The department is lacking basic infrastructure.

One of the best in northeast India in terms of extracurricular activities, Every student has equal opportunity for showcasing their talent .

Exam structure is quite normal and not stressful. Lab sessions are not followed very often according to the schedule.

Faculty strength is not sufficiently with respect to the student intake.There are only 3 faculty members for all 3-year students. All three are doctorates from reputed universities of Assam like Guwahati University. The teachers are mainly comfortable in teaching in Local Language. They don't follow modern methods of teaching. Overall teaching standard is poor.
