What Students Say
Likes
- The vibrant campus life along with the private beach
- Club culture and cultural festivals being huge celebrations are a treat
- The faculty as well as the infrastructure is excellent
Dislikes
- Mess food is rather poor at times and the lack of non veg food in the day time
- First year subjects being common means we have to study subjects like Mechanics which have no further bearing on our coursework
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course as the field of electronics allows for both hardware and software related jobs. The faculty to student ratio in our college is healthy and the faculty is all highly qualified. As first years we common courses along with one course specific subject. The term exams were not too difficult to anyone who studied and pass percentage was fairly high
Internships Opportunities
As a first year I am mostly unaware about internships at my college. I hear that a lot of companies come offering technical internships at core positions and some students even receive PPOs from them.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements after the third year, with some even receiving PPOs after their internships in the third year. The highest package received in the last year was 45Lakhs and our college boasts a placement percentage of 91%. My plans after getting the degree are to sit for placements and get a high paying job
Fees and Financial Aid
First year fees seem to be higher than that of subsequent years however I am eligible for 2/3rd fee remittance under due to my family income. Being a Central Government institution the fees are lower than that of most private colleges.
Campus Life
Our Tech Fest is called Engineer and it is held during the month of October. Our cultural fest Incident is held during the month of March. The library has an excellent range of books and journals for the access of students along with the college providing an E-Library that also has a very useful collection of books. Classrooms are well maintained with some of them having AC. The campus has a rich sporting and club culture with technical and cultural clubs regularly holding events for both the club members and the general student community.
Hostel Facilities
Food in the hostel is not that great but rooms are decently spacious and provide a good environment to study and to relax. Menu variety is good but quality is inconsistent with some items being good while others are terrible.
Admission
Admission is through the means of your JOSAA Counselling on the basis of your JEE Mains ranks. Dates, application forms etc are all available on the website josaa.nic.in, I have availed reservation under the category OBC-NCL. To be eligible for admission in NITs you must have at least 75% or be part of the top 20 percentile in your qualifying exam.
