I wrote GATE exam. I opted For chemical engineering course, In order to be employed in petroleum, chemical industries. Admission procedure was quite easy when compared to Other IIT. As IIT Kharagpur has the highest number Of students intake.It has only a f2f interview where our technical knowledge will be tested. It may aslo havE written test depending on the Department you apply. As of now presently they are directly intaking students If We hav good score in GATE, like Around 500+.

It was apt for the overall development Of the students. FOr M.tech's In 1st yr it has 2 semesters course work. Which includes electives like computational fluid mechanics, Advanced fluid mechanics, Advanced heat transfer, Multi phase flow, Separation technics, Particle technology, Process modeling nd simulation, Optimization technics and many subjects. Among which we need to Take 2 elective in each semisters. 2nd yr is meant for project work.

Internships are more opportuned for under graduates than for post graduate students. As of now MHRD has increased the stipend for M.tech students to 12500/- Monthly.

There are intra college events Going on throughout academics, between Hostel halls in dramatics, cultural, Sports events. And there are their own individual Hostel facilities for dramatic, cultural, sports. Most Excited events in IIT Kharagpur are Spring Fest, KSHITIJ, SHOURYA, Spring Fest is completely cultural.KSHITIJ is of igniting minds of IIT Kharagpur which includes robotics etc.SHOURYA is the lethal energetic competition among the furious athletes. Which includes athletics, cricket, hockey, swimming. Here college from different places come and participate. There Inter IIT sports and games taking place every year.

Feasible 26k for every semisters includes Hostel and food.based on regulation and government rules fee structure may vary in one accadamic year to another accodamic year but fee is very less compare to other institutions in india.

Yes there are lots of banks providing loans. Present which schemes are there i dont know but pg students no need for loans . Already pg students getting stay fund.
