Course Curriculum Overview
I am currently pursuing B-Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT BHU. The only reason to choose this course because it's the best branch in terms of placement that I'm getting according to my JEE Advance rank. But now, when I'm in my 4th semester I'm liking the subjects of our branch. So talking about the faculty student ratio, for each subject we are having 3 faculties for 180 students. The faculties are highly qualified, it's not easy becoming professor in IIT. Every faculty had completed their PHD from reputed institutions, many professors have spent quite a few years in research. Many professors also went to many foreign institutions to pursue their research. Regarding their methods of teaching, professors and their assistants are really helpful. Our exams are mainly Mid semester exam then the End semester exams additionally we also have our quizzes and assignments which depeds from subject to subject. Overall the course is easy compared many other courses in IIT.
Internships Opportunities
Our college provides this year about 350 internship offers among 1200 students which is a really good number.Average stipend for a month will be around 70K. There are various roles for which companies come for intern hiring. Mainly SDE is the most hyped.
Placement Experience
College provides on-campus placements for final year students. If we talk about the placements stats, this 2023 has been a year of recession placement stats came down in every college. But despite of this IIT BHU has about 90% placement which is among the best in the country. Average package this year remains about 18 Lakhs. My branch placements stats are really good so I am targetting my placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The academic fees per semester is about 106000(1 lakh 6 thousands) for general category, for SC/ST it is only about 6thousands. If we compare the fees with other engineering colleges so the fees of premium institutions like IIT are about 1lakh per semester. The scholarships are mostly for the students whose annual income is less than 5 lakhs and also for those having income less than 1 lakh. Scholarships are mostly for category students. But if anyone is unable to pay the fees they can apply for loan and they can get loan very easily. Even when we first went for admission there are professionals from various banks and they are giving loan to almost everyone. Talking about the placement the average package per annum is about 19Lakhs. And almost 90-95% students get placed. Also there are many internships offers that college provide.
Campus Life
IIT BHU has a amazing campus life, college is having more than 50 clubs which covers every extra curriculum sector that a student looks for its overall development as well as for its enjoyments. There is huge library plus three reading rooms where students can do their study from morning 8 till 1 at night. Books regarding various subjects are available in the library. IIT BHU has its Annual socio cultural fest "Kashiyatra" every year in January.Stars like Darshan Raval,Raftaar and many more performed in previous editions.Tech fest is Technex. IIT BHU has offers amazing sports facilities.
Hostel Facilities
So,the main thing is it a government college don't forget this fact.IIT BHU became IIT is about 2010 earlier it was part of BHU, so,the hostels are not so hightech, but many new hostels are being constructed. Talking about the affordibility 15000 is the only cost for both hostel as well as mess which is one of the cheapest among all the IITs. Mess food is I can say the best among all the IITS.
Admission
For getting a seat into any IIT you need to get a good rank in JEE Advance which is an entrance exam for IITs. Let me explain the complete procedure After completing the secondary education in school i.e after completing class 12th. Students are eligible to get Joint Entrance Exam or JEE. First students need to apply for JEE Mains Students that qualify JEE Mains are eligible for JEE Advance. There is also reservation benifits in JEE Mains. The cutoff varies every year but the cutoff for General Category remains about 90 percentile. EWS it is about 70 percentile also same for OBC. For SC/ST the cutoff goes to about 45percentile. After giving Mains student gets eligible for taking admission in NITS and government engineering colleges registered in JOSSA. If a student qualifies JEE Mains he/she becomes eligible for giving JEE Advance and if student clears Advance, becomes eligible for IITS. The overall admission depends on student rank and benifits are available for the category students
Other Applied Colleges
IIT Indore - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITI] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)
Because average package of IITBHU and the alumni network is much better than IIT Indore
