Dislikes
- I did not like the fact that the campus is an open campus.
- Quite a few incidents of theft have been reported in various places around the campus especially at the Vishwanath Temple.
- Classes in the winter are scheduled too early in the morning when going to lecture theatres becomes difficult due to fog and mist.
Course Curriculum Overview
Even though currently I am only in the 2nd sem,I have found all the teachers I have come across as quite friendly,helpful and wise.I had chosen this course as I am quite interested in understanding the creation and devepopment of the huge structures like dams,skyscrapers and bridges.The midsem and endsem exams were wrapped in about 5months time with about 2 and a half months gap between each.Among all the subjects' papers the MA101(Maths) papers were the toughest.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for 1 year is about 1.5 lakhs.While this year's lowest package was 15lpa,the highest was about 2crore per annum.The institue has provided various scholarship programmes for the children who are in need in order to support their education in this institute.
Campus Life
The annual fest is called Kashiyatra which is held every year in the month of January. Each year it has a unique theme and various notable celebrities,singers, dancers etc.perform in it.The tech fest is called Technex and it is held in the month of March every year.The campus has a very good sports culture and has world class sports facilities and trainers to nurture talented players and make them champions.There are quite a no. of clubs in IIT BHU.Some of the notable ones are Indian Music Club,COPS,Robotics Club etc.
Admission
The admission was on the basis of a definite score in JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCED.Both MAINS and ADVANCED were really challenging.After securing the apropriate rank I was able to apply for admission in Civil BTech 4yrs at IIT BHU through JOSAA.Although the process was quite tedious , in the end I feel it is totally worth it.
Interview Experience
No I didnt face any group discussion or interview during the admission. I had to clear JEE Advanced in order to secure my seat. The test was computer based and consisted of variety of question types such as MCQ , numerical type etc.
