Scaling the heights at IIT Mandi

I got the course based on my JEE Advanced rank. Faculty student ratio is quite good and faculty are there whenever you need to discuss academic doubts with them. Faculty are well qualified and most of them are PhDs from IITs and have quite good research work. Teaching method of faculty is good but some of the topics taught by faculty can be quite difficult to understand. Our term were just on time when they should be. As for the difficulty, I would say they were very challenging.

IIT Mandi provides diverse internship opportunities with companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, IBM, and Intel. The roles cover software development, research, engineering, data analysis, marketing, and management. Interns engage in impactful projects, such as software development at Google or research at Samsung, gaining valuable hands-on experience. These internships lead to skill development, networking, and often result in full-time employment opportunities with the respective organizations.

IIT Mandi's campus placements are successful, with renowned companies visiting the campus from December to March. The Career and Placement Cell facilitates the process through pre-placement talks and grooming sessions. The institute's impressive placement records reflect the quality education and dedication of its students. Additionally, IIT Mandi encourages entrepreneurship and innovation, providing support for students interested in startups. Fees structure is based on the category which you belong to. For general/obc category students cost comes out around 1.5 lakh per semester. Around 1 lakh is for tution fees. The SC/ST/PH students are given 100% exemption from tuition fees.

IIT Mandi advocates for a healthy balance between education and extracurricular activities to guide students to new levels and echo their leadership skills and talents through various academic workshops, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities. Events such as Exodia: an intercollegiate tech-cult fest, Rann-Neeti: an intercollegiate sports fest, Astrax: an intercollegiate astronomy fest, Ruvaan: an intercollegiate lit fest, Utkarsh: an intra-collegiate tech fest, and Kala: an intra-collegiate art fest welcome and empower our students to celebrate and utilize their knowledge in a variety of endeavors. Competition club activities throughout the year enhance the talent of our students in several ways. IIT Mandi's various clubs welcome students to challenge themselves and discover and develop new skills in technology, programming, debate, dance, theatre, music, and more. Annual trips to tropical hills and snow-capped mountains exhilarate students.

Our hostel rooms are quite spacious for hostels' standards. There are two types of rooms based on number of students in the room 2 and 3. Rooms for 3 students are spacious enough and rooms for 2 students are quite small in comparison to former but enough. Fees for hostels is 9600 per semester. Meal quality in mess is very good and menu is quite rich in terms of variety. Also, the menu changes in winter to help in facing the cold.

One needs to clear JEE Advanced for admission and it is a well suited process in my opinion. The application form and other details can be found on the official website of JEE. The examination has application fee of 2900 for the students belonging to the general category.
