Likes

The fees structures is very cheap and very affordable.
Faculty members are highly experienced and qualified.
Library is very big and good with lots of books and also AC

Dislikes

Campus size of college is not big and also congested
Hostels are not inside the campus which is a problem for students
There is no playing ground for students.

The first year course of btexh is same for everyone in b tech. From second year students of respective branch can studies there course. So there is always an opportunity for branch upgradation. Faculty are highly educated and experienced. They are very humble with students. Exams are little bit tough but who studies can pass easily.

Through university of calcutta you can get an internship in IIT KHARAGPUR. You can also get in nit durgapur Or iiest shibpur. Companies also offers internship like tcs, wipro, Infosys etc. University of calcutta creates internship opportunities very well.

Placement is good in university of calcutta. For an average of 9.2 LPA it looks amazing. Many companies like Amazon,delolite, cogzinant Infosys, IBM and many more. The highest package offered is 30LPA in 2023. About 89% students get placed.

Fees in university of calcutta for btech degree is minimal. Total 32000 rupees has to pay for 4 years course. That's 8000 per year. If you belongs from bengal you can get scholarship like svmcm etc. If you are from other state you can also get other scholorship.

The campus is very good. All the classes have A.C facility. Library is very good it give you vibe for study. Every author book that is needed for your course is available. There are clubs like coding club, cultural club etc.

Admission

I have taken admission through WBJEE. I got 1723 rank in wbjee. I take electrical engineering branch in university of calcutta as there is lot of scope in this branch at this university. I belongs to genral category. The college fees is 8000 per year which is very cheap. Return of investment is very high in university of calcutta.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
