- The best thing about DU is the networking opportunities you get here. You make a lot of friends but even more networks.
- Another thing is the personality development that you undergo through participating in extra curriculars and society events.
- And then the affordable fees and the return on investment you get on getting into top colleges like the north campus and some of the south campus colleges.
Dislikes
- There's lack of good infrastructure. Most of the colleges in Du are old and their infrastructure is very poor.
- There is a lack of accommodation facility. Most of the colleges do not offer hostel facility which is of major concern.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose bcom hons because its the most popular course offered in delhi University. Faculty is good and the teaching is also good. All of the senior faculty members have phd. Term exams was timely and the difficulty level was not too hard and not too easy .
Internships Opportunities
Yes a lot of internship opportunities are offered in my college. More than 200 companies came to my college alone. There are internship fests organised in various colleages as well. The major companies that i can remember are decathlon, ferns and petal, zomato, physics wallah , etc. Highest stipend was 1.05 lakh and average was 12k. Major roles are of marketing intern, sales intern, finance intern, etc.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements in the last semester. University wise i believe most of the colleges provide placements . Talking about my college in general which is SGTB Khalsa College, DU, last year 127 companies visited cor placement. Average package was around 6 lakhs while the highest package offered was 21.5 lakhs. Major profiles offered includes BDA, Analyst, Auditing Assistant, Accounting Associate, Marketing executives, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees hike i haven't noticed. And there are several scholarship offered but i didn't applied to any of the scholarships . The cost of studying is the most affordable throughout India and Return on investment is superb.
Campus Life
There are around 40 societies in the college. Each has a unique way of operating. The campus is happening. There are a lot of events and fest going on. Speaker sessions, musical events amd then the annual fests. Also we can participate in inter college fests so its pretty amazing. However there is no hostel life and a lot of travelling.
Admission
Cuet exam is conducted to get into Delhi University. The application form is available on the site of nta and application fee is 1500. The admission process was okayish. It could be better and specially the normalisation process is very bad . Also for general students, you stop to get bcom hons at 650/800 and you get north campus only above 755 which i got.
