Review of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College

I applied to a few other government engineering colleges but i ended up choosing JGEC.The main reasons: JGEC is a well established,fully government owned autonomous college,with good accreditation.It also has a long history since 1961,which made me trust its academic environment.Compared to other colleges i applied to ,JGEC felt more stable and credible.It also has a reasonable structure and good campus infrastructure,labs and oppurtunities for intership .There is also a good scope for higher studies like GATE.The marks vs rank went extremely high in WBJEE 2025.That's why i didn't get a college i applied for which is near my home. You can take admission by giving WBJEE and JELET only.As it is a government college you can only take admission if you get a good rank .There is also different cut-offs for diff catagory.The overall admission process is was very smooth and systematic....Read More

I did applied for the Jadavpur University but I didn't get an opportunity there . But it was my and my father's wish that I study near my home and as JGEC is not so far from my home I confirmed the seat here. Our college takes admission through WBJEE exam which held every year in april end or March and then we have counseling process then we have verification process in our college and there after within 1 month we have our classes ....Read More

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department. The admission process was quite easy I went to the college for the PI reporting in the college. Applied for WBJEEB e-counseling.At 1st round I got Information Technology branch,went to college for document verification(WBJEE rank card, WBJEE seat allotment paper, class X marksheet, class XII marksheet) and applied for upgradation.In 2 nd round I got CSE and some extra documents such as physically fit certificate, Aadhar card were also required for admission process....Read More
