Course Curriculum Overview

Computer science engineering is my dream.That's why i chose this course. Faculty's here are very helpful.Yes faculty's are well educated and teaching method is very good.Yes of course it's very hard to pass this examination,but i hv made it at the first attempt.

Various internships roles like SDE role are given in tech companies. Like web development,mobile app development or backend systems.The college also provides internships in cloud computing such as Azure,Aws etc.

The students are allowed to do their in-campus interships from 3rd year.The placements are provided at the end of 3rd year as per the eligiblity criteria of the company.Till now many companies like TCS,Wipro , Cognizant , Tech Mahindra etc have visted our college with an average package of 4.5 lakh pa and highest went upto 20 lakhs pa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course is of four years.In every year we pay nine thousand eight hundred as college fees in a year.There is 3 scholarship by government-svmcm scholarship,mcm scholarship and oasis scholarship.The campus life is well satisfactory and its environment is very soothing.

Form 7 semester the students are available become eligible for campus placements.LNT , Google,tatapower,TCS etc.Highest Pacakage is 24 lpa and average package is 7 lpa . 90 percent students get placement offer.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels usually offer dormitory-style accomadation wih bunk beds.Some hostels also have private rooms for those who want more privacy.Girls and boys hostel are more secure to prioritize their safety.The hostels have a free and good wifi connection.

Hostel Fee: INR 54000 per year

At first you should appear in wbjee examinations.The application form will provide in wbjee.nic.in website.Then you took part in online councelling in the same website.Then you took part in online councelling in the same website.Then you obtain college as per your cut off.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I applied in in the Government engineering colleges only and I cut conferred admission in this college. I choose this college over the others because I got the confirm admission in it. A brief overview of RKMGEC

The main reason students come to this college is because of the fact that fees are affordable and also this is purely government college. Admission process is quite easy you need all the necessary documents (Aadhar, Pan, etc) along with your WBJEE scorecard and rankcard. Other important fact to mention is that only students who are permanent resident of West Bengal can seek for admission. You need a domicile certificate for that....Read More

I applied for many other colleges like Jadavpur university, IEM but wasn't able to make ther with my rank and financial instability. I opted for RKMGEC because it offered a compeling mix of quality education,easy faculty and lowe tuition fees. The eligibility was based on west bengal joint entrance examination (WBJEE) scores with specific cutoffs which vary every year. I face rejection from a couple of other top tier colleges primarily due to high competition and slightly lower intense exams scores.
