- The first thing is of course the difference clubs to choose from. Also our seniors are so supportive and they help us in every possible way.
- The alumni network is so vast that you can find iit bhu alums in any field you choose and they slso provide guidance at the base level
- The professors here are do knowledgeable that you can also cone up with your idea and together do research as well
Dislikes
- I disliked the fact that festivals are not celebrated well here.
- Classrooms and hostel’s don’t gave ac so it becomes really really hot during summer
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course mainly because circutal cut off went too high and also because I liked these subjects thermodynamics, mass and heat transfer interesting and thats what chemical engineering teaches us. Faculty student ratio is approx 1:50. The faculty are class 1 ie whatever they teach it is completely based on full knowledge and research. They are also able to clear each and every question asked by the top students as well. We have 2 semesters per year and in each semester we have mid sem and end sem exams which are very difficult and the average is always very low but we have relative grading so no problem.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is based on the category. For general without ews the full fee per semester is around 1 lakh and it reduces if you have any category reservation. There are various scholarships especially for female students and also there are banks which provide loan without collateral for college students.
Campus Life
Annual fest is our kashiyatra which will be held in mid jan and tech fest is technex held in march. There are vast number of books in the library both exam point of view and research based. We have 3 very large grounds which provide facilities of almost any sport you can name. Also they keep us busy with a lot of extra curriculum activities and you can join clubs or social groups run by students. Dance, music, arts, literature, e cell, business, and many other clubs.
Admission
We had to give 2 exams JEE mains and those who were qualified in that they had to give JEE advanced to get into IIT. Almost 20,000 out of 12 lakh students get selected including the reservation seats- caste based as well as economy based ie ST,SC,OBC,EWS have reservation. Application form can be found on the jee website and application fee is 1500 for mains. Also there will be 2 attempts out of which one the one with higher percentile will be selected. The improvements I would like to see is reduce the reservation seats as the general students who are more eligible than the reservation are not getting a chance to get into one of the top colleges in india. Also if there is bot in the site the admission process will be easier.
