Likes

Social life at the college was overall good.
The seniors were very much friendly. Got many friends.
The technical and innovative aspect of the college is excellent.

Dislikes

The exams were a bit tuff. The papers that came for our semester was a bit moderate to lengthy.
Some of the faculty members are worse. They don't even clear our doubts.
The infrastructure is average for such a college that is taking 7 lakhs for 4 years. They should atleast get us a big playground for football or cricket.

I choose to study B.Tech in ECE from UEM Kolkata. It is a very good course especially when you're not so good in Computer Science. The faculty is overall good and friendly. The exams were a bit tuff because the college is anonymous.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees per year is 85000 for B.Tech. The total paclage for studying is around 7 lakhs for four years. I did not take any loan from the bank but there are many scholarships available from the government.

Campus Life

The social life in the college is overall good. The seniors are friendly. There are many clubs in the college. I am in the dance club, but I want to join music club, sports club, space observatory club.

Admission

Well, UEM Kolkata is situated near Newtown and is a well renowned college for engineering and management studies. It also provides degree for LLB and BHM. The admission process is basically through IEMJEE or WBJEE. It is also good in placements. But this year due to recession, not many people are getting jobs.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

If frustration would have a definition.

If you want to join ths college you have give IEMJEE (their own admission exam) or through WBJEE Exam. But don't worry pal half of it's admission is done by management quota and rest of the seat is seal by external broker.
