What I liked is they have uniform which is compulsory so I don't have to wear and wash 5 clothes per week. Hahah

Dislikes

Timing of college is worst . They don't give us break between classes since 9 AM to 4:10 PM .It feels like I am back in school. It hamper our skill development time .
Campus Life is so boring. My school was better
There are no coding clubs which I can join in my college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because Computer science is my strong area and I love this subject. 1:80. I never got the data about qualification of faculty but most of the faculties are really horrible. IEM have two mid sem exam before each semester. Exams were moderate to hard

Placement Experience

7th and 8th sem students are eligible for campus placement. I don't have any real data about no of offers made by company. College say that above 90 percentage students got placed. Average package is 5LPA and in 2023 highest package is 44LPA that is offcampus. I am planning to get a JOB in any startup or I will start my career in hedge fund and trading.

Fees and Financial Aid

You can check the fees structure on Google. In my personal opinion fees are high according to their infrastructure and faculty quality. In my knowledge there are no scholarship provided by college . Only time a Btech student have chance of Job is campus placement time which starts in their 4th year of course.

Campus Life

Campus Life is horrible. There are no annual fest or tech fest they ever organised. Library is small size and you can only get is books related to your course. In the name of sports our college have a basketball court . We can't expect any extra curricular activities on the campus. No social group or clubs they have mentioned till date .

Admission

Should clear the cut-off in WEBJEE otherwise management quota Application related data you can get from college website If you have domicile of West Bengal then you can avail the reservation benefits otherwise not . Process of admission is good

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Well other than that I definitely put Techno Main , Heritage Institute of Technology, Jalpaiguri Government, kalyani Government and Haldia Institute of Technology too . But the rank didn't allow me to get my desired branch that is CSE in kalyani and jalpaiguri, so I had to close from the private ones and if you have to pick the best one in Kolkata which was also not far waya from my hometown , definitely you choose IEM , as it definately has a good placement track record and good curriculum. Well you can get into this college through WBJEE(which they didn't took this year ) , IEMJEE and direct admission too . But direct admission requires some extra donation amounts too . So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college.
