Remarks

I have mentioned almost everything about my college in all the questions given above. Overall, I can say that the college is great and there are good and bad in everything. Some like a college and some don't but it is the college that helps someone in their future. I would give my campus life, a score of 9 out of 10.

Entrance Preview

I landed up in the college because of my class 12th percentage. I filled up the common admission form online in the month of may when it was released on Delhi University website. Delhi University conducts some entrance exams for some courses but not for my course. I did not give any interview to get admission in PGDAV. I chose this course because my elder sister did this course and currently she is well-placed. She suggested me to take this up.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

B.Com. is one of the most common courses that students of the commerce stream take up. B.Com. is good and helps in post graduation too. The practical learning process is taken care of in the course that I am studying and many subjects of general electives are offered. I have no idea of the research initiatives that my college might be doing.

Internships Opportunities

I have no idea if the college provides any internship or not because I haven't personally seen any such thineg. I haven't done any internship yet, but I'll do one at the end of my second year so that I gain some insights of the corporate world. I have no ida about the stipend amount. Some seniors of mine did internships but I never asked about their stipend.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement scenario of the college is moderately average. The average package of my department is around Rs. 3 lacks. Placement cell of our college work very hard for improving this scene. Ernst and young company also visits. More than half of the students who sit for the placements get the job.

College Events

4

Our events are held on very large scale. AAGHAZ, our annual fest has a large footfall (average 2000). The HYPERION, organizers of cultural fest take care of everything and do it very well. College authorities also help them and support. Some other department events also happen throughout the year that keeps the students engaged. There are a lot of debating and dance competitions organized throughout the year. c

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of our college is given as per the Delhi University norms, since it is a government college. The fee structure also depends on the nature of the course. My fee is averagely between 13000 to 16000 per year. There are no additional charges to be given for any services.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college provides scholarships to the needy and deserving students. I did not avail any scholarship because the fee was totally affordable for me. The college doesn't help in getting loans because it isn't officially permitted to do so.

Campus Life

3

My college in terms of extracurricular is ordinarily good. We get very good facilities to work on it. We get required funds, time and support from the college and teachers which encourage us. There are various societies like Literary society, Dance society, music society, dramatics society which helps the students explore their talents in various fields.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I don't reside in any hostel or in any PG because I am Delhi-NCR resident. There's no college hostel as such but PGs are nearby, in Lajpat Nagar and Amar colony with good facilities. The rooms in PGs are available on single, double, triple and quadruple sharing basis and students can take sharing and so the pay varies accordingly. The food is average in the PGs, based on what I have heard from my friends.

Alumni/Alumna

My interaction with my seniors is quite good. They are very helpful in every aspect, whether it is my personal problem or any academics related problem. They help me find a way out. At times, some seniors visit our college but I don't know if they are invited or they are just coming on their own. No doubt, seniors contribute in the development of the college.

Exam Structure

The exam routine was totally normal as it has to be for the students. It was neither too tiring or hectic nor very chill. Datesheets are given before hand so that students can prepare their schedules accordingly and it doesn't become straining. We are continuously evaluated through assignments and projects apart from the regular pen paper examination, that is held twice in a semester.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is good enough. They are well experienced and cooperative too. They are helpful and understanding. We can freely interact and discuss our problem. The standard of teaching is average, depending upon the teacher to teacher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
