Unveiling the Academic Tapestry: a critical review of BP PODDAR

I have a passion for computers which started when I first started learning Java in school from class 8, that's why I chose btech computer science. Faculty is supportive and very good. teachers are well qualified and knows what they should do. Faculty: student ratio is good, I don't know the exact ratio but it's good. Since this college is under the MAUKAT, all the exams are held by MAUKAT and those exams vary from medium to hard.

Internship opportunities are there if you have the skills to crack it. Companies like TCS,WIPRO come and provide internship opportunities if you are eligible. Our college is tied up with various companies and associations which provides various opportunities to students

Companies such as Infosys,TCS, Cognizant,IBM comes to our campus. Placement percentage is 75 to 80 percentage. Average is 4 - 5 lakh per annum. This year highest is 7 lakh per annum till now. Internship opportunities and placement starts from 6th/7th semester.

During admission a form which was kind of a treaty was made signed by us, which mentioned that if fees is hiked we will have to comply,, and that happened. The fees was hiked in all the colleges under MAUKAT and we were no exception. Fees hiked by almost 2 lakhs. For many poor students who are below poverty line, it is a problem. When it comes to scholarships the college approves national and state scholarships and also some well known ones. Our college tries to help those who have difficulty in paying fees which I don't have so much idea about

There's no campus at all. Only 3 buildings surrounded by society complexes . Although the location is in a prime area, just above the VIP road, Kolkata. The library is good. It's has a voracious collection of books related to engineering. Various clubs/forums are there such as Tech forum, arts and literature forum, sports forums, drama clubs etc.Students can join upto a max of 2 forums of their choice. Sports at all levels. For example football, inter-stream tournaments, college level tournaments, occurs. College also provides aids to those who play for states and participate in nationals. MAR points are allocated to those. Coding Ninjas events and competition occurs in college which is organised under the tech forums

Eligibility - WBJEE/ JEE RANK, 12th percentage - 76 minimum, 10th percentage - 80 minimum, MATHS, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY should be compulsory subjects in 12. And if candidate is from West Bengal then domicile certificate is required
