Course Curriculum Overview
From today's scenerio, we can say that most of the available jobs are seen in IT sector. But I chose CSE because from a very young age I was attached to computer very closely and liked using it and knowing minute details about.In Cse, the average faculty : student ratio is 17:70 and all the teachers are quiet intelligent and sincere in their proffesion. Most of them are Phd holders and passouts from IITs or Jadavpur. The exams are taken after a regular interval and are easy if study right from the beggining.
Internships Opportunities
The institute also has a dedicated placement cell that provides assistance to students in finding internships and placements. The placement cell conducts various training programs, workshops, and mock interviews to prepare the students for the placement process. The placement cell also invites top companies to the campus for conducting placement drives. Some of the companies that visit the campus for placements include Google, Adobe, Samsung, Cisco, Infosys, and Accenture, among others. The placement percentage of IEM Kolkata is usually high, with a majority of the students getting placed in top companies every year
Placement Experience
IEM is college well knowed for its method of study and placements.Famous companies such as TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, etc hire employees from IEM. The Highest package went upto 1cr on campus placement and over 1.5cr in off campus placements. More 90% of students get placed at the end of 4th yr.
Fees and Financial Aid
For CSE, the total 4 yrs course costs near about 7.5 lakh, which I think is quiet normal. But I would say that the cost of study is quiet high as there are frequent requirements of study items and project items for college. For the first semester, the fees is 1lakh 10thousand and the remaining amount is divided as 85k per semester.
Campus Life
In IEM, a number of events take place within a month, so we have a busy schedule over there. We have hackathon, project making, debate, cricket, coding and various other compeitions every semester. We also have a AC library with wide range of books for peaceful self study. Classroms are well equipped with projector and speakers for a quality study. We also have 4 social clubs run by the students ,themselves.
Admission
Getting admission in IEM, Kolkata is very tough. You need to be very studious in studies, as the compeition is really high. Getting 98-99 percentile in JEE mains can give you a seat in IEM,While taking admission via WBJEE, you must have a rank less than 1000.Application forms are available both offline(IEM Ashram building) and online(in college website).
