Jadavpur University at a glance

It's has a good faculty ratio, first years are taught their subjects by different faculty teachers like for eng or math, their departmental teachers come. classes from second year onwards are by the department teachers. Civil engineering here is done at prayukti bhawan and it's faculty is great, most of them graduated from this university only and came back as professor. Friendly nature of seniors and faculty members. There are class test for each subject (2 ) in a semester and term end sem is after that , syllabus is timely completed a month before and examination dates selection is a choice of students.

Technical internship and departmental internship opportunities are given where students get to work with research and innovation and get a decent stipend which depends on the companies. Companies Are chosen by the students and invitation are given to them for recruitment and internships .

From 7 th semester the placement starts where a placement coordinator is chosen among the students and the students invite companies of their choice for placements. The placement record is above 95 in all departments and average package ranges from 5-20 lpa for different departments.

Fees structure is the best. It's the least fees u can get in a top college just 2400/ year for engineering Also TFW quota students are given consession in this too. Scholarship are available for all, including from the alumini association of the university. Hostel fees are also around 50-100/ month Internship opportunities are made available for students through clubs like entrepreneurship cell and others who closely work with other organisations for innovation

The annual fees of JU is called Sanskriti which is a cultural fest and Srijan which is the tech fest. Srijan is the second largest techno management fest in East India after iit kgp's Kshitij. All sports facilities are available with a big ground in main campus and a cricket ground maintained by CAB at salt lake campus . The campus is full of greenery and give u retro vibes , the atmosphere is amazing and very liberal . There are a lots of clubs like entrepreneurship, mountaineering, photography, mechatronics, dance , debate etc where u can join with other students to participate and enjoy different fests and performances in and around Kolkata colleges.

Wbjee rankers are given admission here, arts faculty has their own entrance here , good vibes great faculty teachers. Reservation are there for the castes and tribes and also for PWD students For civil engineering this year 2023 cutoff of wbjee was around 3800 in centralised counselling and 4100 in decentralised counselling

It's just the WBjee exam for engineering But for students wanting to enter through sports quota , they have to apply and sit for interview which is very easy, they just ask about ur achievements ur family conditions and ur ultimate aim
