Course Curriculum Overview

There is lot of opportunites , The faculty student ratio is Good, Maximum teachers are PHD holders, Exams are held once every 6 months and are moderately difficult but with good prepration one can pass.

Internships Opportunities

TCS , infosys , cognizent , wipro , siemens , etc companies are gave internship offer with stipend arround 10 thousands per month . Our college giving secure placement guarenty of 6.5 LPA awhich is really amazing.

Placement Experience

This is the only part where our college excels at. Average placement in our college is 85%. There are many companies visits in our college like TCS , Infosys , Cognizent , Wipro , IBM, etc. From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

It is a government college so it has quit low fees and the fees hike doesnt heppen to often. Several state aided scholarship like SVMCM and private scholarchip are also available for students college also provides internship.

Campus Life

campus life is quite good with college organising annual fest , annual sports , good accomodation , and different cultural clubs such as dance club , music club , photography club , tech club , etc. There are lot of books in our library.

Admission

Eligibility of course is 12th pass , Application form was online and the form was of WBJEE the fees for the form was Rs. 500 Application from is generally released in late december or early january, There is relaxation in cut off for Reservation candidate, During mop up the candidates who took admission should also be eligible

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I applied in in the Government engineering colleges only and I cut conferred admission in this college. I choose this college over the others because I got the confirm admission in it. A brief overview of RKMGEC

The main reason students come to this college is because of the fact that fees are affordable and also this is purely government college. Admission process is quite easy you need all the necessary documents (Aadhar, Pan, etc) along with your WBJEE scorecard and rankcard. I applied for many other colleges like Jadavpur university, IEM but wasn't able to make ther with my rank and financial instability. I opted for RKMGEC because it offered a compeling mix of quality education,easy faculty and lowe tuition fees. The eligibility was based on west bengal joint entrance examination (WBJEE) scores with specific cutoffs which vary every year. I face rejection from a couple of other top tier colleges primarily due to high competition and slightly lower intense exams scores.
