Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen this course because of my interest in this field, and also because it opens many more fields in the future. The faculty student ratio is about 1:2 which is very good in any circumstance. Most of our professers have done phd and have even done so in reputed colleges and they have a nice teaching style. They teach all the points related to the topic and even solve our doubts.
Internships Opportunities
I am in the first year , so am not the ideal person to answer this question . But with what I have heard , many big companies including MNCs come for interships . They also give pre placement officers to the deserving students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The undergraduate course in Jadavpur university is extremely cheap in the current students, costing only 10000 rupess for the entire duration of 4 years. On top of it, the college also provides tuition fees waiver facility for needy students. One can also avail schoalrship from outside sources if needed.
Campus Life
Our college has many clubs which are mainly run by the students. Dance club, music club, photography club, Mechantronics club, robotics club are some of the few.There is a big playground whre one can play after the classes. The classrooms are well equipped with with whiteboards, projector and smartboard.Our library has a wide variety of books thta one can take. One can take at the most 5 books at a time, 2 from the central library and 3 from the departmental library.The annual fest is sanskriti, which takes place in thr=e month of February or March.
Admission
Currently I am studying in the department of Mechanical Engineering in Jadavpur University, the most sought after college in WBJEE. The admission in this college is through west bengal joint or WBJEE, which consists of solving a 200 mark paper within 4 hours, and has 2 parts- one part maths and the other chemistry and physics. being an enginnering degree, the elligiblity of the course is 4 years. application form is available in the official WBJEE website every year during the month of december, and lasts till the end of january. Application fees was 500 at the time I registered. As far as reservation is concerned, I couldnt avail any being in the general category.
