Review of Circuital Branches for B Tech. at BIT Mesra, Ranchi

B Tech in ECE is a good course and my primary reason was both the placement opportunities and the tie up this college has with foreign universities in neitherlands, Denmark and many other such countries, which will come in handy if I ever persure my interest in electronics which I am quite passionate about. Faculty to student ratio is close to 20%. All faculty members of the course are PhD holders from distinguished colleges and have prestigious positions in IEEE, IETE and other such organisations, while some even hold world wide acknowledgements for innovations and papers. For example, Dr. Srikanta Pal holds the world record for the world's smallest antaenna as well as his work in electromagnetic telescopy that was used by the largest telescope in the UK. Exams were conducted timely but a negative point is the lack of time to prepare in between as the midsem and endsem exams were held in a span of mere 5 days back to back with no study leaves in between.

Many Tech giants such as Microsoft, Walmart, Amazon, Nvidia, Atlassian and other such coimpanies recruit about 4-5 or 11-12 interns each year on average. 99% of the students get a PPO of very high salary.

Students generally from 3rd year get into internships and students in 4th year actively participate in placements. Most good companies visit the campus placements such as google, microsoft, amazon, atlassian, ans all other such tech giants in the computer sector and companies like intel, nvidia, texas instruments and such electronic based heavy giants visit for electronics core placment. Highest package of 2023 in ECE went to 83.5 LPA and average was close to 17 LPA. I plan on getting a good placement or a good internship in either core electronics or software sector at the end of the degree.

Scholarship kis practically very difficult ot avail as it is only given to the very top performers of the entire batch or on the basis of JEE Main Rank to those who have about 2000-5000 rank. Name of the scholarship is GP Birla Scholarship and dependin on the rank it can be 50 to 75 % waiver on the tution fees.

Annual Cultural Fest: Bitotsav (Largest in East India amongst all colleges including IITs and NITs), conducted in month of February. Tech Fest: Pantheon, conducted in October. Central Library of BIT Mesra is one of the largest of all colleges and really does have a decent collection in books considering both course and non course related books as well as a large collection of E Resources one of which is it's tie up with Pearson. Classrooms are lavish with recliner seats and centralised Air conditioners, multiple projectors and screens, sound proofing etc. Sports and extra curricular activities are a very prominent part of the campus life for those interested due to the availability of the dedicated sports complex which spans an area of about 50 Acres and is equipped with the latest sports facilities and courts, as well as gyms. There are total of 33 clubs out of which all ae very decorated and win awards from all over India by performing each year in IIT fests etc. Ex: Dhwani.

Single or Double occupancy rooms given to students if male. Meal quality is usually great but depends on the hostel. Menu is decided by students of hostel. Each hostel has a different mess and it's commitee comprised of it's students. There are a total of about 11 for boys. Registration for hostel and room allotment are done on the day of the college admission.
