- Some faculties don't teach properly and don't use modern teaching techniques like smart classes despite the facility being available
- Seniors behave very rudely with juniors, some of them don't have any study or work they are localites but still stay in hostel just to trouble juniors and enforce their seniority whenever they get the chance.
- Hostel facility is not good not bad but mostly it isn't worth it staying in hostel
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose the course as ECE is one of the premiere branches and the demand of ECE students in the industry is going to be very high after 2027 ( my graduation year ). Also ECE students can sit for CSE streams in terms of jobs.
Placement Experience
Placements are good in this college. Many companies like Accenture, Infosys, congnizant come for campus drives and provide training from 5th semester. However if the student is not studious and cgpa is below the bar they don't get placements on campus. My plans after getting the degree is to apply for jobs externally, I would sit for placements in college to but I also aim to sit for GATE exam and continue further studies or I might apply for Scientist/Engineer at CERN, DRDO, BARC, ISRO (via ICRB), rest I also keep an eye for big international companies like Google and Microsoft.
Fees and Financial Aid
The recent fees hike is really causing a lot of problems especially for us 1st years in 2023-27 batch because we got admission agreeing to one fees and then suddenly there was a hike of more than 2 lakhs rupees in total it caused a lot of economic strain for us middle class families.
Campus Life
Classrooms are good there are smart classrooms and AC equipped lecture halls ( for selected subjects). Laboratories are a bit old fashioned and sometimes instruments go wrong there's not enough equipments and apparatus for individual students to learn and tinker with individually but there are plenty which just fullfils the basic needs. Library has a large collection of books and is also connected with delnet which allows online access of library ebooks and many features from within college network. Extra curricular activities are plenty, there are enough clubs in college you can join according to your interest the social media pages of BCREC music club are fairly popular and show case talents on platforms like Instagram and Facebook
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is just good enough to live, frequent power loss is a problem. Hostel food is good in nutrients and quantity there are 5 meals provided thoughout the day but the food quality varies from fair to poor and sometimes good but very rarely. Hostel price is too high for the facilities given. Also the 1st year students face a lot of problems from seniors although hostel building is different it is closely located and the warden for senior hostel is not that strict and they shout at juniors hostel and seniors act very rudely. Overall the senior-junior dynamics of this college is unhealthy and management, faculty, wardens put a blind eye to that.
Admission
I sat for WBJEE and got allotted to electronics and communication engineering in this college in the first chance and got here. I feel like the allotment process of WBJEE is a little bit complicated and obscure it should be more transparent and talking about admission in college.
