Colleges in remote area it's 40k from Siliguri
The fees are a little to be extra exactly 18000 per year

I have very much interest in electronics and communication I have I want to make some projects and electronics and communication it and also get the opportunity to get jobs from IT sector in our college about 6:1 most of all faculties have PhD or mtech and we have like to internal exam and other language

There are various opportunities to get an internship most of the opportunities come from the training and placement cell of our college we got does it come like Microsoft Google media.net Uber etc in our department some people are making project like drone

The students become eligible from 7th semester to get campus placements there is various companies with digit our college like Amazon cognizant Microsoft TCS etc almost 98% students are getting placement over the years personally I would like to join a job after completing my daily course

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of study is a little bit of high its like 18000 per year we can get scholarship like sbmc and where we can get 60000 for year if any students have guy definitely because course 60% higher he is eligible to get this scholarship

Campus Life

We have two fest in our college one is take fest and another is normal face we have various types of classrooms normal and hybrid we have the three full fridge accounts for sports beside that we have a volleyball ground in gym and a basketball ground like cyber security club centre for innovation for electronics students

Admission

College if you want to you have to be eligible for that you have to complete three years diploma in engineering from any college in West Bengal and then you can find the examination form for JEE p you have rank and if you have reservation on no reservation you can get admission in this college

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Unbiased Review of JGEC

I applied to a few other government engineering colleges but i ended up choosing JGEC.The main reasons: JGEC is a well established,fully government owned autonomous college,with good accreditation.It also has a long history since 1961,which made me trust its academic environment.Compared to other colleges i applied to ,JGEC felt more stable and credible.It also has a reasonable structure and good campus infrastructure,labs and oppurtunities for intership .There is also a good scope for higher studies like GATE.The marks vs rank went extremely high in WBJEE 2025.That's why i didn't get a college i applied for which is near my home. You can take admission by giving WBJEE and JELET only.As it is a government college you can only take admission if you get a good rank .There is also different cut-offs for diff catagory.The overall admission process is was very smooth and systematic....Read More

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
