Course Curriculum Overview

I am a fond of nano electronics thats why I choose ECE. Also ECE has a vast field. In our department teachers are too friendly. They are highly qualified even most of them have Ph.D. The teaching process is really good. Two term exams are taken apart from assignment and if one is regular in the class he/she can easily pass exams.

Class Size: 180Course Fees: INR 140000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Our college provides internship opportunities. There are many company which provide opportunities. Even our college provides internship under our college with stipend 6,000/- to 7,000/- per month (internship is for 6 months).

Placement Experience

College placement is too good. After 6th sem one can seat in campus placement . Many companies like TCS, Cognigent, Capgemini, Oracle, Accenture, Wipro , IBM ,PWC ,etc come every year. Avg package is 4-5 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my time fees wwas 70,000/- per sem. College gives finanacial aid to economically weak students. On-campus placement is decent. Our college also has 100% placement record. Even In Corona time Our highest package was 72 LPA(approx). Avg Salary in placement is 4-5LPA.

Campus Life

Actually you have to wear uniform. There is a small place where you can play. But there are lots of tech fest held. This college is completely free from ragging. Book and journals are available in library. One can access library for 24*7. Football , Cricket match , Marathon and Indoor game competetion is held by college.

Admission

I got admission through JEE mains. One should crack IEM-JEE for this(it is the addmission test of college and started from 2022). Application from and all details are found in the official website of IEM. In this addmission process you will find same reservation process of central government.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Well other than that I definitely put Techno Main , Heritage Institute of Technology, Jalpaiguri Government, kalyani Government and Haldia Institute of Technology too . But the rank didn't allow me to get my desired branch that is CSE in kalyani and jalpaiguri, so I had to close from the private ones and if you have to pick the best one in Kolkata which was also not far waya from my hometown , definitely you choose IEM , as it definately has a good placement track record and good curriculum. Well you can get into this college through WBJEE(which they didn't took this year ) , IEMJEE and direct admission too . But direct admission requires some extra donation amounts too . So prefer qualifying the exams ....Read More

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college.
