A journey worth sharing

If said, there is a small problem I will want to highlight is faculty problem in ECE branch. Overall, Ithink that the rest procedure, system is very well in our campus including infra-structure also. Experiences I have gained is just awsome. I just can't put an end in sharing the experience because what this college campus has given me is remarkable in my full life. That's it.

I attended the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination( WBJEE) and securing a good general merit rank we landed up in this college. There was no other interview process while admission in this college. The course I am currently doing is obviously my own preference. I had an interest from childhood in Mathematics, Physics i.e. science related studies. This had inspired me to do Engineering.

Though that is our own preferences in choosing the course i.e. E.C.E but we think this course in this college might have been more improved in faculties and teaching qualities. There is a quite problem in our course due to lack of faculties in E.C.E. The kits provided in laboratory for practical learning are up to date and easy to handle. Not only many seminars, workshops on various study things like Robotics, MATLAB learning, Programme language learning etc are conducted by the college, but the college students themselves also have taken the initiatives by making many clubs on the campus like CFI( Centre For Innovation) on Robotics, Coders' Club on programming languages, LS( Literally Society) on Spoken English etc.

The departmental HODs and some teachers help us to get an internship. If said, HOD of CSE department is comparatively more active than the others in this field. Even in this year, our college authority had organised an internship programme for all the departments on our own college premises. However, my internship days had gone well. Our HOD had a great contribution in this work on research papers. And we have become finally succeeded presenting our research paper in a IEEE conference which has been published in IEEE Xplore. Though it was not a paid intern, but the other internships to be provided are in Tenpi which provides a stipend amount of 5,000/- and IOCL which was an unpaid intern but its certificates keep a great value in the CV.

In the recent years, the placement scenario is quite good. In last two years approx 60% students have got placed mostly from non-core departments. The major companies that visited the campus are TCS, SPCL, Kriti Technologies and CTS. Moreover, as we have seen the other companies that visited in last two years are Fusion Chart, Cocacola, Erickson etc. The average package is near about 4 lakhs per annum.

The technical fest organized in the campus is SRISTI and the cultural is JECLAT. SRISTI is continued for 4 days where there are many events like Bridge the Gap, Code Chronicles, Robo Soccer, Brain Treasure etc and gaming section like Counter Strike, NFS, FIFA etc. An online event also is held in SRISTI named SHERLOCKED based on solving technical puzzles. Every event carries an attractive prize money also. The cultural fest JECLAT to be held in our campus is the biggest cultural fest in North Bengal. It continues for 1 week. This fest has many interesting events, programmes like Malley, Treasure Hunt, Roadies, Quiz Competition, Wall Painting, T-Shirt Painting etc. The fest becomes more attractive in last day called Social Night. Many reputed famous singers attend every year to make the fest more valuable. The alumni system give a huge amount of donation every year for the fest. The college authority also has a contribution in these fests.

The college fee structure is quite affordable. The fees of each semester are 5,500/- approx. for CE, ME and EE; 8,500/- approx. for ECE, CSE and 14,000/- approx. for IT branches. The Hostel fees are 12,000/- per semester with a total of 8 semester.

Yes, the college provides scholarships for those students who have a financial problem in their family. FFS( Full Free Scholarship) and HFS (Half Free Scholarship) is given to those students after a small interview verifying family income certificate and merits. No, I have not availed any scholarships. When in emergency need, the college authority helps that student financially by compromising his college and hostel fees.

In terms of extracurriculars our college is full of benefits. For those who have the talent of creative writing, Magazine Club is there in the campus. For those who are good in programming language and want to learn programming, Coders' Club is there. Those who are interested in technical field, CFI (Centre For Innovation) is there. In our campus, there is a gymnasium for daily exercise, an Art Club for those who likes drawing, arts etc. So, all kinds of extracurricular facilities are provided in our college.

Yes, we are residing in hostel. There are four individual Boys' Hostels on the campus for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students and one Girls' Hostel for all the girls. The hostel rooms are moderate and well furnished with 3 beds, 4 tables, 3 chairs and 2 cupboards. 3 boys can share one room. There is a hostel accomodation of near about 200 students in each boys' hostel. The Girls' hostel has approximately the same infrastructure and facilities with a total accomodation of about 150 students. Those who can't get chance to stay in the hostel have to stay either in messes or in PGs outside with their own expenses. In each hostel there is a common room for entertainment purpose like watching T.V, playing carroms, table tennis etc. The food quality of the hostel is moderate and no such fraud cases yet have been found.

An unique thing which is uncommon in our campus is the strong interactive bonds between the juniors and seniors. This bond, this unity has become able to keep strong the alumni network. So the student-alumni interaction is very strong in our college as compared to any other colleges. The alumni contribute a huge amount in fests, campusing and the rest events organized in our college. No doubt it can be said that the alumni network has a great role in approaching the companies in our college i.e, while campusing.

Not really. It will not make us feeling tired at the end of the day. Because, we have made this as our daily routine so it's nothing but a chill culture.

There are 6 departments with 1 H.O.D. and the other faculties in each department. The faculties are good qualified and interactive also. The students can clear their doubts in study with the help of them whenever they want. The standard of teaching is average. However it depends on department to department where the teaching standard of teaching of the faculties in CSE and ME department is comparatively better than the rest branches.
