Remarks
There is a very much requirement of faculties in the college. Development of the laboratories are also needed. The area of the campus is very large. So proper maintenance is needed to keep it clean, beautiful and healthy.
Entrance Preview
To take admission in this college, everyone has to qualify in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. After this examination merit ranks are given to every participant. Then the students take admission through the centralised counselling conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Board.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is Electronics & Communication Engineering. The lac of number of faculty is the main problem. The conditions of the laboratories are very poor. So scope of practical learning is very short.
Internships Opportunities
College don't provide any internship to the students. Students have to apply for internships by themselves. College provides NOCs to the students for internships. Most of the students go for research-internships. Most of the industrial internships are free. No stipend is given.
Placement Experience
Campus-placement record is average. There is a drought going on in campus-placement since last 3-4 years. So students are mainly trying for off-campus and pool-campus placements. The major companies that visited the campus are TCS, CTS, SPCL etc. The average package was 3.5 lpa.
College Events
There are two fests which are organised in the campus. One is technical fest named "SRISTI" and another is cultural fest named "JECLAT". These fests are the biggest fests in North Bengal. The duration of the tech-fest is 3days and the cultural fest is 7days long. Various types of events are organised in these fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As this is a Government college, the fee structure is not so much expensive. Total fees for 1st year is Rs.22000 and Rs.15451 for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year each.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are different types of scholarships provided by the college like minority scholarship, Half-Free Scheme, Full-Free Scheme etc. I am getting Full-Free Scheme right now.
Campus Life
There are many scopes for extracurricular activities. There are different clubs in the college like Sports Club, Dance Club, Music Club, Photography Club, Literature Club etc. These clubs give us to nurture our inner talents.
Hostel Facilities
In 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year one room is shared by 3 students. In the final year everybody gets his individual room. Quality of food is average.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network of our college is very strong. Many members of the alumni association keep a regular contact with us. They visit our campus frequently. They try to bring companies to the campus by their industry-contacts for placement.
Faculty
There is a lac of faculty in our department. But the present faculties are highly qualified. They are also very much helpful to us. The quality of teaching is very good.
