Remarks
The infrastructure of the college building is not upto mark and laboratory kits of some departments are out of date or damaged or doesn't functions properly. So since it is a government engineering college so we hope to see advancement and improvement of college and college campus in future.
Entrance Preview
I appeared for WBJEE exam in the year 2012 and got selected to this college through e counselling. My general merit rank was 3,210. I opted for the department of civil engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
I studied in civil engineering department and was eager to know about construction. After learning for four 4 years I understood all basics of construction and civil drawings and measurements. I like this course because it needs lots of patience and is a entertaining subject.
Internships Opportunities
We had interned from MSME kolkata. Also we mailed to simplex for an internship and was offered the same. For internship mainly the CSE department students get help from their HOD but for rest we are just helped with the NOC letter and moral support.
Placement Experience
We have only sapoorji paloonji coming mainly for our department students recruitment. Rest we have software companies like TCS, CTS, cognizant, coca cola (for mechanical) and other companies coming to our campus. Also we travel to silliguri engineering college for pool campusing.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since we were from core department so relatively our fees structure was lower than other departments. We had to pay approx. 5,500 rupees per semester for core departements and 8,500 for ECE and CSE. For IT it is around rupees 14,000 per semester. Our hostel fees is approx. 12,000 per semester.
Faculty
We have moderate faculty but few professors are strict enough with class attendance and timing. Our lab instructors are also strict with calculation and neatness of work. We have a H.O.D. who is well helping and always try to uplift our department.
