Introduction to Nit Jalandhar

Basicly I choose this course according to my jee rank, but after start studying it feels interesting and placement scope is also good. Faculty to student ratio is almost 1ratio 20. All professors are well qualified from respective IITs and other institutes, all have done research in various topics. You have to study more by yourself as they are professors. There are two main exams in a semester one is midsem (30 marks) other is endsem(50marks) also the quizes were held in between these. you have 2.5 months before midsem and around 1.5 months before endsem which makes endsems somehow difficult.

There is a team of Mechanical students in our nit named team daksh that designs the offroad cars and have won several inter nit and iit comptetion. I am not an intern till now so i have not that much idea about that but there are almost 20 companies that offered internship to the students in their branches.

Placements begains to start from 3rd year or 6th semester. Students also got internship. Almost 108 companies have visited our nit. Infosys, Amazon, Wipro, IBM, Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sach, Samsung, Tata, Accenture, TCS, Zscaler, BPCL are the top companies. In 2023 80% of students are being placed. Average package is 12.44 LPA. Highest package is 51 LPA of it and cs branch.

I am discussing fee per semester. Tution fee : 60,000 Mess charge : 35,000 Other charge : 25,000 there is 100% tution fee waiver for SC/ST students. also 100% tution fee waiver for OBC students who have less than 1 lakh per annum income. 2/3 tution fee waiver for obc income less than 5 lakh per annum.

Annual fest : Tech tatva, Techniti Clubs: NSS, NCC, MUSIC, DANCE, DRAMA Prayas: to teach the samll students at the nit by the nit students. Dispensary is there for the students treatment also they do insurence of 1 lakh of each students. Grounds for Cricket and Football. Huge badminton, volleyball court and basketball court are there. Also there is a badminton and volleyball court in respective hostel.

There are 4 seater rooms for all 1st year students which have 4 almeera, 4 beds, 4 tables and chairs in it, although rooms are not too big but it is adjustible. 2 and 3 seater rooms for 2nd and 3rd year. Single seater for 4rth year students. There is some lack of hygeine which is a negative point. There is 1 mess in each hostel which is large and have a good menu, not very nice. Registration is done by online mode on college website. There is ethernet in each room to faster connectivity to internet which is literally fast around 90mbps. There is no PG near to college in 10 km area.

1. First you have to give JEE MAINS exam and qualify it. 2. Participate in councilling held by jossa or csab on there respective websites. 3. Online registration will be held on website of nit jalandhar. 4. After college is alloted you are given a date for physical verification of documents. 5. At college, a token no. will be alloted to you for priority of verification. 6. After verification you can move to hostel registration and after that hostel will be alloted.
