About my college

I already said that the college life has been satisfactory, not upto the mark. Apart from CSE and ME, other streams need to improvise on their infrastructure and faculty. And, most importantly, the Training and Placement cell needs to be more active and conduct campusing.

To get a chance to study in our college, one need to clear the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. By clearing WBJEE, I had two choices to study, first one in Jadavpur, second one in Jalpaiguri, so, I didn't get chance in the first and got admitted here. To study B. Tech. in India, you don't have to go through any interview process, I guess so. This is true at least for our college. Actually, Computer Science and Engineering has been the first choice of every student for every college, cut off for Computer Science and Engineering has been very high, it gets filled first, moreover having campusing issues in my mind, I chose CSE.

The course I chose has been very pleasing to me. Practical Learning hasn't been that good, but, it has been satisfactory. Research initiatives has been taken quite a few times. But, honestly speaking, apart from Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, other streams have not been upto the mark. They need to raise their standards.

I need to state about my stream, i.e., Computer Science and Engineering. Internships are provided to almost 100% of the students. Not every internships provide stipends, but average stipend is like 2000 INR.

Placement scenario for this year is very poor. Only 10% students got placed so far this year. Only SPCL visited the campus, rest was from pool campusing. Average package is somewhat like 4-4.5 LPA.

There is a Technical and Managerial combined fest, named Sristi. And, Jeclat is the cultural fest of our college. Both are the largest fests in North Bengal. The organisation has been very good through the years.

Fee Structure is very much affordable. It's nearly 6000 INR per semester. Moreover, Half and Full freeships are provided to students with poor financial background.

Scholarships are definitely provided to students with poor financial background.

I need to rate 10 out of 10 in this criterion. Every single student gets ample opportunities to explore his/her inner talent. You can talk of any extracurricular, and it's provided here.

Yes, I am a boarder of the hostel. Every year has their separate hostels. 1st year students need to stay with 3 roommates, 2nd and 3rd year with 2 roommates, 4th year students get single rooms. Hostel fee is 12000 INR per semester. Food is very good, specially as compared to other colleges.

The alumni network is pretty good. The alumni does contribute a lot to the development of the college as well as the students.

Lab exams take part once in every semester. There is one mid sem and one end sem in every semester. It's somewhere between tiresome and chill.

I am going to review for my stream, i.e., Computer Science and Engineering. Our faculty are highly qualified with our HOD a PhD, and all the rest of our faculty are currently pursuing PhD. Talking about experience, they have been teaching in the stream for nearly 10-15 years. Students with doubts are always welcomed by them.
