The faculty and staffs are friendly and cooperate well
Provides alltime access to library and canteen

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course and i was interested in accountancy and numbers Faculty is not good, the college does not conduct regular classes it is a government college so the teachers are appointed on the basis of state government exams Exams were conducted halfly but it is not difficult to pass

It is a government college so the fees are reasonable Ontime admission fees of 5000 And then examination fees of 1200 The college does not provide any campus placement Some sort of percentage is reserved for ST,Scs, obc

An annual program is conducted every year on the month of december Books and journals are available at library but only few are available for commerce students An annual sports day is conducted on the month of november In college there is a student union

No entrance exam required. You should have 65% above to avall honours in bcom. Admission process is online based. College issue no. Of merit list and then the seats are alloted. You can for the college through website

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

To make it easy I would like to tell you that I am not a bright student, especially my science ground was really poor. I could barely manages to qualify 10th examination with help of arts subject. After 12th I applied to Dinhata College and A.B.N Seal College. But I couldn't make it to A.B.N Seal just because my 10th result was poor enough, that's why I choose Dinhata College as a second option. But this second option provided me many opportunities that I qualified UGC NET to apply for PhD in my first attempt though I couldn't make it to JRF. But I hope good for the next time....Read More

"Dinhata College from the Students Perspective"

The course requires excellent math and physics knowledge, so if math is not your strong suit, don't choose physics. You must also pass 12 board exams with roughly a 90 percent general score in order to be eligible. You can download the application form from the college website, where you can also see that the application fee is always zero. If you are accepted, the fee is 2770 Rs.
