Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I joined Dyal Singh College in the month of September and I'm pursuing Bcom Honours here. I am from a pure commerce background and it is enough to take this course besides this I have a great interest in finance and accounting. The college offers a plethora of courses like Bsc Honours, Maths Honours, BA Economics Honours, English Honours, Bcom program, Bcom Honours, etc. The Faculty Team is simply outstanding at their respective work. We can find a good faculty-student ratio in college. There is approximately a 1:40 ratio. Every faculty member is post graduate in various disciplines and some are PhD holders. Because of the new education policy, some courses are now of 4 years. There are 2-semester exams in one year and for Bcom Honours and Economics Honours, it is comparatively tough to pass. You can find extra courses too like value additional courses, skill enhancement course, and general electives.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Dyal Singh College also provide internships to it's eligible students. In the last year almost 50 companies have provided different internship opportunities in various disciplines like marketing, finance and accounting. Roles like accountant, sales manager, consultant, content writer were offered by companies. Average stipend was 17000 to 20000 and highest was 50000.

Placement Experience

3

Dyal Singh College has a placement cell that helps it's student to get placed in reputed companies like Wipro technologies, EY group, Infosys, etc. Placement cell of Dyal Singh College is a collaborative team of college students and college authorities that invites reputed companies from different backgrounds like marketing, finance and accounting. From 6th semester students become eligible to sit in placement drive. Upto 50 companies have visited college campus in past year and approximately 110+ offers were made. In 2023 average placement was 60000 per annum and highest went upto 36 Lpa. You can see placements in only selected course like Bcom Honours, Bcom program and Economics Honours. 50 to 60 percent students get placement easily.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is comparatively low than other colleges. For Bcom Honours college has following fees structure 1st Year- 14000 2nd Year - 10000 3rd Year - 10000 4th Year - 10000 College also provide various scholarships to meritorious students to help their financial situations. Beside college Delhi University every year provide financial assistance to it's students through simple procedure. Students from second and third year can get campus job in college. Because I'm still in first year so I have not done any campus job. Yess academic fees is so cheap but one can find living expenses very costly at South Delhi.

Campus Life

Dyal Singh College has one of the largest crowd in Delhi University. People comes from different states, backgrounds and religions, so a energetic and mixed atmosphere can always be seen in college campus. Library is largest in whole Delhi University, here we can find books and journals on various topics and subjects. Classroom is main focus area, every class room is equipped with benches, black boards, and tubelights. Some of them have air conditioning too.

Yes to be admission in college of Delhi University you should crack an entrance exam called C.U.E.T. Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
