IIT Kharagpur Review

Course curriculum is very nice and the faculty members are well versed with what their subjects. I choose this course because of my keen interest in learning about business science. The term exams are going to difficult. Its not tough to pass the exams but to get good grades you have to put in efforts.

Internship opportunities in IIT Kharagpur is really good. Maximum stipend you can get is around 15lakhs for 3 months. Students get internships and get placed through the CDC(Career Development Centre). Many companies visit IIT KGP and provide internships. Students are eligible for internships from the 3rd year of B.Tech and 4th year of the dual degree program.

Campus placements are availed by students in 8th semester. Students of 6th Semester sit for internship during the placement drive too. This year 1353 jobs were offered to 1277 students . Highest was 1.7 crores excluding PPOs.

There are lots of schemes such as the MCM scheme which waivers the fees bu a huge margin. There are also free laptops distribution and education loan programs offered by various banks. Being well connected with seniors is important to know about the scholarship schemes and how to avail them.

Life at campus is adventurous. You get to experience new things everyday. Theres a fest like every new month. You enjoy weekends like a bird. Free movies at auditorium,munch at night canteens etc. There are over 80 societies in IIT Kgp. You can to join one whichever you are interested in. They take you in through personal Interviews. So dont get disheartened if you fail to get into one. There are many more doing the same thing.

Hostel facility is great. You have to find your roommates while you arrive to the campus. Its a bit difficult for introverted peeps but youll definitely get someone. Roomates are the closest friends you have. You are going to have loads of dun with them together.

The Admission Process was smooth as possible. JEE Advanced works greatly with JOSAA and they inform you about each and everything in emails. Joining freshers group of the college is a bonus. You'll interact with seniors and learn more about the process.
