IIT Kharagpur Review by Natabar Pradhan

I got the course within my rank range. Student to faculty ratio is 1:10. Faculty are well qualified all are PhD holders all of them have excellent knowledge in their field sometimes their teaching method is not good. two main exams in a semester Mid semester and end semester exams and review tests are conducted time to time through moodle in online mode.level of questions are preety high and a considerable amount of effort is required to pass the exams.

Research internship are available for Biotech,chemistry, physics,applied geology and geophysics but internship is biased towards higher branches but you apply for off-campus internship.if you develop your skills here you have quite good chance to get a internship.

In 7th semester placement are offered.more than 100 companies visit with more than 1200 offers almost every year. Highest this year was 1.68 cr and average was 20 lpa. Percentage of student placed is 80. My plan is to get a suitable job.

Tuition fees are reduced according to category 1.General/ews/obc with income 1-5 lpa only have to pay 1/3 of total Tuition fees 2. General/ews/obc with income less than 1 lpa don't have to pay any Tuition fees. 3.sc/st candidate with any income don't have to pay any fees. I am General open category with income with 1-5 lpa.so my 2/3 tuition fees was reduced.

Spring fest called annual fest and kshitij is tech fest. A lot of book of available more than 2 lakh in number in central library arranged in 6 hall rooms.magzines are also available.class rooms are well equipped with speaker,green board,projector,plenty of fans,Air conditioners with a sitting capacity of almost 200. EAA 1 credit course is alloted to all students for extra academic activity.you can play almost every sport you can imagine here inside the campus.There are 69 different societies run by students here.

In rooms fans, lights, tables, chairs, beds are given by hostel for each room to each person.washrooms and toilets are distributed blockwise. Mess menu found is upto the mark but some there some foods many of us don't like kofta curry and kadi pakoda. Hostel are alloted through email some days before you arrive on campus.you also have to register yourself in erp of iitkgp before arriving.my hall is LBS Hall of Residence. Near my hall there is Patel hall and MMM hall.

Admission in course was through jee advanced. first you have to appear for jee mains then the candidates who cleared the cutoff can apply for jee advanced through the application window maintained by the organising IIT.application of jee main will be made available by nta through their official website.application fees jee mains 1000 INR.aplication fees jee advanced 3000INR.In my case there was no reservation. In my opinion i don't think any change is required in admission process.
