Multiple food outlets are there in campus like dominos and various other centres
Mess food is also really good and too much variety is there.
Placements are great in the campus. Most of the seniors were placed

Dislikes

Hygiene issues are there in the hostel blocks
You have to maintain 75% attendance in each course
Classes are sometimes too long and boring

I was interested in computer science for the good placement that's why I joined the course. In our class there are total 60 students with 1 faculty. All the faculties are PhD holders from reputed universities. Faculties also teaches well. There are total 3 exams Cat-1, Cat-2 and FAT

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 198000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is centralised mail system in college. If there is any opportunity college mails us about the opportunity, it is upto you wether you apply for it or not. Majorly startups are there for the internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

4.5

In 4th year placement process starts. Various companies like amazon, Flipkart etc came to the campus. The average package was around 9lpa. 100% of the students were placed. For internships the process starts from 6 semester

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure is divided on five categories. 1st category has lowest fees of 198000 and 5 category has the highest fees around 6 lacs. Financial assistance is provided to under privileged students. The fees of hostel hikes every year.

Campus Life

There are 2 fests that happens per year, Vibrance and Technovit. Vibrance is a cultural fest and Technovit is a technical fest. You will find every book in the central library of vit Chennai. There is also a book borrowing system. In classroom smart boards is there. Various sports tournament happens here. There are various clubs in the campus.

Hostel Facilities

Room is very small if you take 2 bed or 3 bed rooms. The hygiene is also really poor in washrooms. The meal quality is good in the hostel. Food is excellent. Also there are 3 type of mess veg, non veg, special.

Hostel Fee: INR 150000 per year

Admission

I wrote Viteee exam for getting admission to VIT Chennai. I Had not prepared well for the exam still managed to score 15k rank. After rank declaration there was a counselling process gor course selection.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in their final year. Many reputed companies like accenture, TCS, zoho, HCL, etc. visited and many of my friends also got placed with a good package. The highest package from my batch was 50lpa in company called motorq. The average package is around 4lpa.

Placement Experience:

The students become elgible for placements right from the 5th semester of their course work. The students who have no standing arrears become elgibile in the first place. There are many companies visiting the college where Infosys, Cognizant, Virtusa are the mass recruiters. The are many other companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho etc. visiting the college placement drive. On overall 90% of students gets placed every year. The highest package of 25lakhs per annum was offered by amazon for 3 students. My plans after getting degree is to get placed in any of the company.

From final year students and 3rd-year students eligible for attending the campus placements in this campus so many companies are there like Wipro, wheels India, so many IT companies in this average package starting as 18000 to 40000 students should have a minimum percentage of 6.80cgpa eligible for placement I completed the degree I got a placement on IT company.

Balanced Engineering Journey At Vit Chennai

I applied for SRM, once considered admission in LPU but finally chose VIT due it's reputation and strong placements. Other colleges which I applied for required strong jee scores for admission. Admission process in VIT is as follows:- 1) write VITEEE exam cause vit doesn't considers jee scores. 2) you must have above 60 percent in boards and above or equal to 60 percent in PCM aggregate. 3)cutoffs, past papers, closing and opening ranks are not revealed si can't say much regarding that. 4) overall admission experience was decent...Read More

Is VIT worth it

From th start of the 12th class I wanted IIT and my second option was VIT over NITs because it has very good facilities. I didn't get good marks in my JEE advance so I choose VIT. I had given exams of various other colleges like Kalinga Insititute of technology(KIT), SRM, BITSAT etc. i chose VIT as my college was because it is one of the most renowned colleges of India. VIT has a tag value of its own and it does make a difference if you add "VIT" as your college in your resume. The admission process of this college goes by giving an examination called VITEEE which is held after jee mains. The syllabus for the same is similar to jee mains and the good thing is it has no negative marking. All 12th pass students with a minimum of 60% are eligible to write this entrance test.
