Course Curriculum Overview
I chose computer science and engineering core at vit chennai because of my affinity towards the subject. Faculty to student ratio is good, 1:50 across all streams and subjects.most of the faculty are PhD or have a masters degree from reputed universities in their subjects. Term exams are conducted every month and it is difficult. They check our concepts thoroughly
Internships Opportunities
Vit is a big brand so applying for internships in the outside market is a good way of getting internships with recognition. The college also provides internships in the 7th semester Through technical rounds where companies like Microsoft take interns
Placement Experience
Placement drive in vit is very extensive, with companies coming with all sorts of technical jobs. Average package for CSE core is 10 lpa, and there are plenty of internship opportunities as well. Highest package last year was 1.02 cr lpa. My plans after getting the degree are sitting for placements and going for a job in web development
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure of the college is very descriptive and is merit vise. Cat-1 and Cat-2 fees is 2 and 2.5 lakhs per year respectively. Cat 3,4,5 fees are 4 lakhs, 4.5 lakhs and 5 lakhs per year respectively Based on your rank in VITEEE your fees is assigned and based on your cgpa in college you get scholarship.
Campus Life
Annual tech fest is technovit, and cultural fest is called vibrance. Tech fest is conducted in october-november and cultural fest is conducted in feb-march. The library is very extensive and covers books from all streams of engineering and education. Classrooms are well equipped with tall boards and fans, labs are fully air conditioned with a lot of computers. all sort of sports are played here in vit, every sport amenity is present. All extracurricular activities have their clubs. Club culture is massive in vit
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is excellent. 24/7 water supply, air conditioned rooms for chennai's harsh weather, study tables and cupboards. Mess food is and clean and is food board approved. Registration process for hostel happens on the online portal. The hostel fees ranges according to the room type, 2,4,6 people sharing rooms have different prices.
Admission
We gave an entrance exam for vit called VITEEE which was based on 11th and 12th grade cbse syllabus for physics chemistry and math. The exam was focused on speed solving more and having clear basic concepts was a must.
