Lesser but developing in an international reach.
Highly competitive in terms of academics, hence stress causing factors are pertinent.

Course Curriculum Overview

For ECE, the course curriculum is pretty good. It makes sure to cover a wide range of career foundations throughout the fields of Electronics and Communications. There are research oriented faculties, hence paper publications and patent filing procedures are quite common.

Placement Experience

Placements are offered in VIT, but the placements are not subjected to individual campuses. Companies come to VIT seeking new employees and as a student you'll be competing with other students across all 4 campuses. Hence the placement seasons are extrememly competitive. As the recession has affected the job market, the expected paclages were lower than previous year's average. But on the brighter side, the number of students getting placed are still maintained, compared to the fall in placement oppurtunities in other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Compared to a government college or an average private institution, VIT falls towards a bit higher end of the fee spectrum. There are a few scholarship oppurtunities, but kindly refer to the website as I don't have detailed understanding in how that applies.

Campus Life

The campus is brimming with clubs, student chapters and fests. The college environment is lively and there'll be some event, workshop or competition happening every week. Furthermore there are 2 fests in VIT Chennai, one being a technical fest (TechnoVIT) and the other being full on cultural (Vibrance).

Admission

I was in the 2020 batch, so that particular ear VITEEE was not conducted. Hence my admission was solely based on my CBSE and JEE rank. Post-pandemic changes have brought back VITEEE, so from 2021 students were enrolled based on this entrance exam rank.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Placement Experience:

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in their final year. Many reputed companies like accenture, TCS, zoho, HCL, etc. visited and many of my friends also got placed with a good package. The highest package from my batch was 50lpa in company called motorq. The average package is around 4lpa.

Placement Experience:

The students become elgible for placements right from the 5th semester of their course work. The students who have no standing arrears become elgibile in the first place. There are many companies visiting the college where Infosys, Cognizant, Virtusa are the mass recruiters. The are many other companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho etc. visiting the college placement drive. On overall 90% of students gets placed every year. The highest package of 25lakhs per annum was offered by amazon for 3 students. My plans after getting degree is to get placed in any of the company.

It's a good college for me.

Placement Experience:

From final year students and 3rd-year students eligible for attending the campus placements in this campus so many companies are there like Wipro, wheels India, so many IT companies in this average package starting as 18000 to 40000 students should have a minimum percentage of 6.80cgpa eligible for placement I completed the degree I got a placement on IT company.

because of future is EV. So I will take the EEE for a bright future 50:1 ratio level. Faculty qualification is a minimum PG and most of the faculties are complete Ph.D. each unit has a unit test it is very easy only No difficulty to get a pass.

Balanced Engineering Journey At Vit Chennai

I applied for SRM, once considered admission in LPU but finally chose VIT due it's reputation and strong placements. Other colleges which I applied for required strong jee scores for admission. Admission process in VIT is as follows:- 1) write VITEEE exam cause vit doesn't considers jee scores. 2) you must have above 60 percent in boards and above or equal to 60 percent in PCM aggregate. 3)cutoffs, past papers, closing and opening ranks are not revealed si can't say much regarding that. 4) overall admission experience was decent...Read More

Is VIT worth it

From th start of the 12th class I wanted IIT and my second option was VIT over NITs because it has very good facilities. I didn't get good marks in my JEE advance so I choose VIT. I had given exams of various other colleges like Kalinga Insititute of technology(KIT), SRM, BITSAT etc. i chose VIT as my college was because it is one of the most renowned colleges of India. VIT has a tag value of its own and it does make a difference if you add "VIT" as your college in your resume. The admission process of this college goes by giving an examination called VITEEE which is held after jee mains. The syllabus for the same is similar to jee mains and the good thing is it has no negative marking. All 12th pass students with a minimum of 60% are eligible to write this entrance test.
