Likes

Infrastructure is very well built and cleanliness is also maintained
Faculty and Peers are very polite and helpful
Environment is very safe and exposure is given to outside world.

Dislikes

Benches are a little tiny for students to comfortably sit
Timings are a little bit early for students coming from far.
College is for six days a week instead of five, which is a little hectic.

I've chosen this course because of my interest in business and commerce field. There are a total of 72 students in my class and 1 faculty member. The qualification of the faculty is very good and can be seen through their teaching methods. Term exams were held at the end of november and were moderately difficult.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for Bcom course was around 37000. The college provides scholarships in several fields for students qualifying the conditions. It also provides financial assistance to students in need and supports any entrepreneurial activity of students.

Campus Life

The Campus life is good. Fests happen every now and then. Availability of books and journals in the library is also upto the mark. Classrooms are nice and clean with good lighting and air conditioning. There are many sports and extracurriculars like basketball, dance, music, etc. There are many whatsapp groups that provide information for the upcoming holidays and events happening in the college.

Admission

The application process was online through an official website of Punjab University. Admission for bcom was on merit basis and high percentage was required for bcom course. The admission process was smooth and simple.

Learning and Growth at PGGC-11

Placement Experience:

The students can sit for placements in their final year of course. The tricity based companies come for campus placements for jobs that need strong communication skills and basic knowledge of their domain. The maximum package that was offered goes up to 5 LPA, and the average packages are lower than this arounf 3 LPA. I wanted to go for Post Graduation so did not opt for campus placement.

The course curriculum is relevant and fairly comprehensive. Well defined syllabus with core subjects included. Balanced focus on theory and academic learning. Suitable for students aiming for higher studies. The curriculum prepares students well for post graduate studies and entrance exam.exposure to practical and industry oriented applications is limited. AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT- Inclusion of skill based and industry relevant modules. Greater use of interactive teaching methods. More guest lectures and workshops. First SEM Experience

Placement Experience:

Around 80-90% of the students get placed in my course. The average package is 3LPA - 5LPA. This college has a decent placement record. The highest package offered is 7.6LPA. Companies like Google , Deloitte , Amazon , Infosys , Wipro , etc. come to the campus to pick excellent students for their company. The college also has a dedicated placement cell which helps the students to prepare for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

MCM MY DREAM COLLEGE

The reputation and ranking of MCM is really nice in north india and specially in tricity! PGGC SECTOR 11 & 42 these are also good but they have a very large crowd of students women like kangana raunaut and yami are also a student of this college giving it a extra bollywood vibe! Mehar Chand Mahajan College: A Hub for Growth and Opportunity

I chose Mehar Chand Mahajan College for its strong academic reputation and supportive faculty. Compared to other colleges, it excels in personalized attention and offers a vibrant campus life. While other colleges had good programs, they lacked the same level of community engagement. I was accepted here after a straightforward admission process, which included an application review and an interview, making it a seamless experience.
