Course Curriculum Overview

I chose cse branch in iiit BHUBANESWAR after seeing their excellent placement statistics. A lot of faculty members are involved having a faculty student ratio of 1:15. Most of the professors are PhD from iits and iisc . Teaching method is kind of old and inefficient. Exams are easy to pass and 1 week of self study is enough

Internships Opportunities

College offers internships to 2nd and 3rd years with highest stipend of 1 LPM . Companies like Oracle and Dell offer internships . Core branches have comparitively less internship opportunities than tech branches

Placement Experience

Campus placements begin as soon as you enter your second last semester. In 2023 companies like media.net , oracle , Dell etc came for campus placements. Highest package offered was 39 lpa and average for cse was over 13 lpa. Overall average was 10 lpa. cse, ce ,it has over 90% placements while etc and eee have around 70 to 75% only . I'm planning to sit for placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees remains usually constant through out the coarse , 12-13 lakhs will be accomodation and tution fees . Mess fee not included. Currently studying in 1st year . Odisha category students with bpl certificate get tution fee waiver

Campus Life

We have TARS for robotics, vedanta samiti for organising cultural event, sports society for handling sports stuffs, DC (disciplinary committee) for maintaining disciple during any event, E-cell for entrepreneurship and many others...

Hostel Facilities

Whole campus is provided with high speed internet 24 hrs. All the are accomodated with 3 students and further from second u have a choice to get a single occupancy room.Mess is okayish and provide special meal on various occasions and also gives snacks. Accomodation charges v/s facilities such as cleaniness is manageable. Day scholars are not allowed in first year from second year one can follow further process.

Hostel Fee: INR 18000 per year

Admission

The admission process was through 50% jossa and csab councelling/50% odisha councelling. I took the jee mains entrance exam . After allotment through jossa or csab councelling, I went through their documentation for the reporting process . Their you can see the important documents to be submitted during the admission process. Usually admission takes place a week after other nits

Course Curriculum Overview:

For csit the subjects kee changing accroding to the trendy stuffs that are currently going on but it was really hard to keep with that when all your subjects are changed and you have o idea or previous year qs to geta reference from. Exams are conducted continously with no gaps and its not a easy stuff students get lot of stress but still somehow manage.

A Complete Review of KIIT University from a Student's View

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students.The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini.The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs.The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.

Placement Experience:

So from 7th semester plcements are starting.Various Tech and Non Tech companies are also coming like TCS ,Accenture, Cognizant, Delloitte, InfoSys, KFinTech, Incture, GyanSys, Iserveu for Tech branches. and PRADAN, Aditya Birla etc for Non tech branches. Students also getting offers from OffCampus like RedHat ,CISCO ,Amazon ,Google. From On Campus Highest Package goes upto 12 to 15LPA and lowest is 4.5 but average is 5 to 6 LPA which is comperable. And about almost all are who are opting for placements got placed eventually.

After 6th semester the students get eligible for company placement. There are huge companies visited every year for the placement and many big MNCs like Amazon offers 100seats , Wipro offers 200, detollite offers 100, microsoft offers 10, ITC offers 150 , Infosys offers 300, TCS offers 200, Flipkart offers 150 and many more . Every year almost 80% of the students get placed at a good company with a minimum of 4 lakhs . After getting the degree I am planning to get placed in a multi national company like Amazon or Microsoft

Placements are ok but majority of the placement are for the IT and Cse sectors, but there are some core companies which offers a good packages. Around 40-50 % students pare placed in the companies and more over most of the students are up for the higher studies and cracking GATE exam.

Placement Experience:

See basically you placement depends on you .If you work hard you will get placed with a good package.In our college last year the avg package for CSE was around 13 Lakh per annum and highest was about 39 lakh per annum.Companies like Amazon,oracle Microsoft etc visited our college .After 4 th or 5 th semester i Think we are all capable of getting placed .

A Decent Experience

I chose IIIT Bhubaneswar over the other college I applied to, which was KIIT, mainly because IIIT Bhubaneswar felt like a better fit for my long-term goals in terms of coding culture, academic seriousness, and overall brand value as a government-backed technical institute. Even though I got admission in KIIT, I preferred IIIT because the peer group here is more focused on programming, internships, and placements, and the environment pushes me to stay consistent and improve my skills. Also, when I compared both colleges, KIIT has a bigger and more happening campus life, but IIIT Bhubaneswar feels more career-driven and closer to the kind of tech exposure I wanted. I got admission into IIIT Bhubaneswar through the Odisha category, where the selection is done based on eligibility and merit as per the counselling process, and the overall admission experience was smooth for me. The basic eligibility was passing 12th with Physics and Mathematics, and the admission process mainly involved counselling, document verification, and fee payment, after which the final seat confirmation was done.
