Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because Jadavpur University is one of the top Universities in India to complete your Bachelors degree with if not the best, one of the best ROI in the ENTIRE WORLD as they charge only a modest fee of 12000 INR for the entire course duration of 4 years and have an average of 10LPA in placement with the average and median of top branches exceeding that of 20LPA. Also they have one of the best faculties in India, even better than the top 3 collegea of India

Innternships are given by companies such as Texas Instruments, NVIDIA, AIRBUS, AMAZON, etc Average stipend offered is in excess of 30000 INR per month Projects are given based on the subjects in which the intern is proficient in

Placement Experience

One of the best placements provided in the entirety of India, branches like Mechanical, Civil and Construction have seen 100% placements. Infact, the entire placement percentage is 88%, which is outstanding!!

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is immensely moderate i.e. 12000 INR @ 4 years for the entire course with a very minimal fees hike. In fact 8 years ago the total fees was 11000 INR. Even though in my opinion no scholarship is required for this fees, there is a SVMCM scholarship for those who have family income less than 2.5 LPA

Campus Life

Jadavpur University holds one of the biggest tech fest in Eastern India - Srijan, only second to IIT Kharagpur's Kshitij, and it is the biggest tech fest held in the metropolitan city of Kolkata. Srijan is conducted in the month of March.

Admission

For eligibility one has to pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Application forms, fees and dates are available at wbjee.nic.in Reservation benefits are give to OBCs, SCs, STs, PwDs and those from Jammu and Kashmir region. Admission process is ok

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
