Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Btech CSE AI/ML and I chose this course since I always had an interest in computer courses and also since AI is the future that we are going to have. The faculty student ratio is 1:75. Most of the faculty have PHD's in their respective fields. The semester is about 6 months but they packed it in about 4 months. Mid term exams were normal but term end exams were a bit harder.
Internships Opportunities
I am a first year and I dont know about the projects and internship opportunities given by the university. But I have heard from the seniors that you will have good internship opportunities and the projects will be hard so we should work hard.
Placement Experience
I am a 1st year student and I don't know much about placements but I have heard from the seniors that the average placements are good and it will be hard to get good placements due the current competition. The percentage of students getting placements are 90%. My plans after getting the degree will be to work for a few years and then go for an Mtech Degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are 5 category of fees and the category depends on the rank you get in VITEEE. In category 1 the fee is 2lakh, in category 2 the fee is 3lakh, in category 3 the fee is 4 lakh, in category 4 is 5lakh and in cate 5 it's 6lakh. They gave scholarship according to the ranks you get in VITEEE if you fall under AIR 1000 then you will be getting subsequent fee waiver upto AIR 1. The fee waiver you get is inversely proportional to the rank you get in VITEEE.
Campus Life
The annual fest is Advitya and is conducted in February and tech fests are conducted every month but they charge for it around Rs.200 per head. Availability of books is nice but the place for sitting in the Library is low since there are a lot of students in the campus. Since this college is developing the sports activities are a bit low energetic and the grounds are not that great. But we do have sports activities inter-college and also inter-college.
Hostel Facilities
Room facilities is all not that good but you will have a fun time in the room some of the rooms don't have all the equipments but if any equipments are damaged the repairs are done quickly on that day itself. The meals are average. Some of the foods are great and the other ones are bad. They have online allocation for hostel registration.
Admission
There was a entrance exam called VITEEE and you will get selected for VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai if you get your ranks below 100000 and VIT Bhopal and VIT AP along with VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai. We should give the priorities for the selection of the courses and they would provide us with the available course that we deserve according to our ranks. We can find the application form, application fees and application dates on vit.ac.in . They should make it more easier for students to get into VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai because most of the students struggle to get into it even with ranks below 60000.
