What Students Say

Likes

There is less competition compared to other IITs and NITs . Faculties are also really good at teaching and really help us in exam times by providing notes and practice questions.
Campus is small so we can go to classes in less than 4 minutes.
Seniors are really helpful and friendly and guide us very well.

Dislikes

There is no food restaurants near our institute.
Very large usable area still left but has not been touched.
Roads need some improvement inside and outside of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose CSE branch because it has wide scope of future and job opportunities. Course curriculum is really good and almost similar to the ones in IITs. Faculty members are also really experienced and dedicated. Almost all the teachers have done their Ph.D from reputed colleges. Their teaching methods are really outstanding. In one semester there would be 2 exams for each subject. Exams were really easy to pass if you just pay attention in the class.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 250000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many renowned companies like DELL, ORACLE and ORACLE come to our college for internship opportunities. Last year they recruited students with stipends upto 1-2 LPA. List of all the students can be found in the IIIT BHUBANESWAR website.

Placement Experience

From 4th semester students become eligible for applying for internship and from 6th semester students become eligible for applying for job interviews. Many renowned companies such as DELL,ORACLE, WIPRO and many others come to our college. In CSE,CE and IT branch 90-95% students get placement offers.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees in this college is also similar to that of IITs and IIITs. Scholarship opportunities are also really good. Just this year companies like DELL and ORACLE recruited students for internship. Job offers are also really good.

Campus Life

Life at the campus is really good. The annual fest is also really good. It is called as ADVAITA. Renowned artists come to perform in front of a wide variety of audience. Different colleges come to our fest to attend.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is good. They do a good job in maintaining the hostel. Meal quality in the hostel in questionable. It has a lot of Room for improvement. Students outside from Odisha might find difficulties in adjusting at first.

Hostel Fee: INR 1800 per year

Admission

Admission process was quite unique. I did it through their website because they were providing reservation for Odisha residents which I took advantage of. It was quite similar to JOSHA councelling. Students from outside of Odisha were to do the admission through the JOSHA councelling. Eligibility for CSE was above 37000 rank in JEE MAINS. Application form is available in the website only. Course Curriculum Overview:

For csit the subjects kee changing accroding to the trendy stuffs that are currently going on but it was really hard to keep with that when all your subjects are changed and you have o idea or previous year qs to geta reference from. Exams are conducted continously with no gaps and its not a easy stuff students get lot of stress but still somehow manage.

A Complete Review of KIIT University from a Student's View

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students.The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini.The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs.The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.

Placement Experience:

So from 7th semester plcements are starting.Various Tech and Non Tech companies are also coming like TCS ,Accenture, Cognizant, Delloitte, InfoSys, KFinTech, Incture, GyanSys, Iserveu for Tech branches. and PRADAN, Aditya Birla etc for Non tech branches. Students also getting offers from OffCampus like RedHat ,CISCO ,Amazon ,Google. From On Campus Highest Package goes upto 12 to 15LPA and lowest is 4.5 but average is 5 to 6 LPA which is comperable. And about almost all are who are opting for placements got placed eventually.

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester the students get eligible for company placement. There are huge companies visited every year for the placement and many big MNCs like Amazon offers 100seats , Wipro offers 200, detollite offers 100, microsoft offers 10, ITC offers 150 , Infosys offers 300, TCS offers 200, Flipkart offers 150 and many more . Every year almost 80% of the students get placed at a good company with a minimum of 4 lakhs . After getting the degree I am planning to get placed in a multi national company like Amazon or Microsoft

Placements are ok but majority of the placement are for the IT and Cse sectors, but there are some core companies which offers a good packages. Around 40-50 % students pare placed in the companies and more over most of the students are up for the higher studies and cracking GATE exam.

Placement Experience:

See basically you placement depends on you .If you work hard you will get placed with a good package.In our college last year the avg package for CSE was around 13 Lakh per annum and highest was about 39 lakh per annum.Companies like Amazon,oracle Microsoft etc visited our college .After 4 th or 5 th semester i Think we are all capable of getting placed .

A Decent Experience

I chose IIIT Bhubaneswar over the other college I applied to, which was KIIT, mainly because IIIT Bhubaneswar felt like a better fit for my long-term goals in terms of coding culture, academic seriousness, and overall brand value as a government-backed technical institute. Even though I got admission in KIIT, I preferred IIIT because the peer group here is more focused on programming, internships, and placements, and the environment pushes me to stay consistent and improve my skills. Also, when I compared both colleges, KIIT has a bigger and more happening campus life, but IIIT Bhubaneswar feels more career-driven and closer to the kind of tech exposure I wanted. I got admission into IIIT Bhubaneswar through the Odisha category, where the selection is done based on eligibility and merit as per the counselling process, and the overall admission experience was smooth for me. The basic eligibility was passing 12th with Physics and Mathematics, and the admission process mainly involved counselling, document verification, and fee payment, after which the final seat confirmation was done.
