IIIT BHUBANESWAR in a Nutshell

I choose this course as it had lots of opportunities and I even if I don't get good placement this course will help me gain various skills to stand in the community. The faculty members are not as good as expected. Some of them don't even know what they are doing, they are coming to teaching us very poorly , but it not all the teachers , some of them are quite good and know what they are doing.the student ratio is very bad as in our class only there are 15 girls to 60 boys. Exams are quite difficult but if prepared well it's a well set paper.

There are not a lot of opportunities in the college for internship unless the intership is a paid internship , but some students good interships which provides them good experience . Companies like Dell has given interships in this college. So opportunities might be less but it is there.

The placements of my College is quite good up till now and almost 90% students gets placed . But there is declined in the number of students appearing for placements as famous companies do not come to this college , a very few handful of them will only come to take a small portion of students. I plan to pursue freelancing and start early and investing and stocks marketing as I have a lot of interest in that.

The fees structure is quite high considering this college is a govt college. But it provides a lot of opportunities to grow in multiple fields not just only in studies but other fields also. The college has ambassador from Microsoft and Google etc so it provides a lot of opportunities. Scholarships are hard to find but it is available. There is no as such financial assistance to everyone but category people get relief in tuition fees if there families annual income is less than 8 lakhs.the placements are ok as there are not a lot of companies who comes to this college , but almost 80-90% people gets placed

The campus life is not as coolish type as the campus is only 23 acres , so it's a small campus , but the design of campus is quite good. Everything is closer to each other so u can never be late for anything happening in the college.there are also a lot of societies(clubs) to join and do events with them and grow with them. But the infrastructure is a very crucial point where this college lacks a lot .

The hostel is actually better than expected. They provide you with a single size bed , a table a chair and a almirah to put your stuffs. And the rooms are decently spacious. So everything works out. The meals someday it's good , someday its bad but it's ok considering hostel mess food.And the hostel fees and mess fees are affordable so it doesn't pose any problems.

I got to know about the college from my uncle , then I researched about the eligibility and other stuffs. As I had already given my jee , so I just had to wait for the application form to go online. I applied in the college as an ST candidate so I got a very good branch.There was not as such problems in the admission process but the front end of website looks very poor.
